Anyone on here from this area and been to the track in the early 70s? I knew the original owner of my z raced it but Sunday I pulled the seats out and there was a golf sized pencil under the seat that said Thompson drag raceway. Also a nasty ear plug!

I raced there a lot the last 3 years I run a index series called renegaderacingassociation.com. We are a street car themed serie that runs ols class that runs 1/8 th mile heads up there are a couple of the OLS cars running in the high 4second zone and there are 3 index classes 8.90 9.90 and a 10.50 index class.The track was repaved about 3 weeks ago.Thompson is a cool track to race at and the staff at the track are wonderful to deal with.

Also there are some people on facebook that are posting pictures from the 50`s to the 80`s from all the dragstrips in northern ohio there are some neat pictures on there.

I have a picture of the owner standing in front of it but that's all i have. I am not sure if he put the 140 cam in when the crank was balanced but the bearings are dated 9/71. I have talked to his son but some of the info is foggy. I live nw of Columbus and the car was sold new in hubbard we think

That's one of my favorites....crooked plate and all. Looks like dropped exhaust and maybe slapper bars...And some steep gears with those meats under the rear right Sammy?

Bill try this group on facebook 50`s,60`s,70`s &amp; 80`s northern ohio dragracers and there is also a guy on facebook that goes by the name Buckwheat he has a ton of old pictures that he shares.

Where was it from in OH? I know a lot of guys that raced there, my home track still, lots of history there.

Nick fischio was the owner and i think he was from Hubbard at one time. I have been in some contact with his son.
