69 Camaro Dust For Sale
I have seen some cars that are pretty far gone - but this one takes the cake for me.
It doesnt look like much more than dust - god only knows what would be left if you tried to move it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-CAMA...=item46083145b2 |
Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
Starting bid is too high. What is a wheel with a red line worth?

Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
I missed the statement that the wheels/tires are available separate from the auction. WAFJ.

Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
----I like two things! 1: the sheet metal screw right thru the trim tag, and 2: The bud light can that appears to be near perfect condition........Bill S

Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
You guys are a tough crowd. If it was a ZL1 it would be very restorable. It's in alot better shape than the 71 Hemi Cuda convert that is coming to auction.

Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
Wow that was a pretty car when it was new. I hope someone saves it. They are all savable. Just depends on your skill set and pocket depth.

Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
You know, with what you guys said about this car, gave me an idea. Ever watch the Food Network show Restaurant Impossible? Why not do a Restoration Impossible show?? Candidate number one with this car......

Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
Doesn't appear to be an original BB car though.
|
Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
The guy probably knew he wasn't gonna do anything with the car, took the trim tag off and kept it in the bottom of his sock draw for the past 20 years LOL!!!

Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
As far as making any money restoring it and selling it, not in your wildest dreams. Anyone that restores a car like this from this condition is doing it because <span style="text-decoration: underline">that</span> is the car that they have always wanted and price is not an issue. If it were a ZL1 would it be restorable, yes -Yenko, maybe -COPO, possibly -L89 and lower HP cars, the trim and vin tags in a frame on the wall would be the most valuable pieces.

Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
Small block AC box?
|
Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
Good eye on the AC box
|
Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
Small block A/C box? That would mean the tag was swapped on to the car. Is that a repro rivet on the left side?
Same seller has this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet...=item460807f568 The 67 includes "factory untouched (maybe center gears) 12 bolt rear end with 4 leaf springs". |
Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
I gotta admit... looking at it closer, it does look like a tag was installed onto the body.

If exposed to the same elements, I would think that the trim tag would be a little more rusted. I smell fish. |
Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
Also, why wouldn't the seller go to the trouble to remove one screw so they can show the rest of the body tag info?

Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
Aluminum tag rusting ?
|
Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
The 396 fender emblem is suspect to me. Looks very shiny and I really doubt it would have survived the impact on that fender like it did. Looks like he took a new one, snapped it in two and put it on.
|
Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
The area on the fender behind where the 9 would be located looks to have a pattern from a solid circle, like a 0, no opening to match the 9. 307 car?
|
Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
If emblems and TT have been added to a 307 car, is the tail panel blackening recent too?
Considering all and no Vin available, does the obscured TT Body # seem too convenient? ~ Pete |

WOW good spot! Also the black on the tail panel is super nice compared to the paint on the rest of the car. The black would have rust stains on it in certain places from where the rain has run down it all of these years. Also look at the screw holding the clip on the cowl tag. The screw head has fresh screwdriver marks on the inside where it was either screwed in or taken off at some point recently. |

Brain fart, sorry. I must have been thinking Mopar fender tag or something. |
Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
Yeah...and there is a shooter on the grassy knoll.

Re: 69 Camaro Dust For Sale
This is the same guy who tried selling the orange 69 L89 Berger Camaro a few years back.
