Found Mint Yenko USA 1 License Plate!!
So i found this on my nova I just got and didn't even realize what I had until someone told me how extremely rare this plate is. It is the 1969 one that says " Putting you first keeps us first". I have found that it is rare but have not found any idea of it's value. Anyone have any idea? It is an original and in near flawless condition.

Re: Found Mint Yenko USA 1 License Plate!!
Welcome and congrats on the find. You'll know for sure what it's worth when your auction ends. Sadly, I doubt I'll be the one with deep enough pockets to be the high bidder.
Putting you first .... keeps us first By the way, how about filling out more of your profile so we'll at least know your first name. |

Re: Found Mint Yenko USA 1 License Plate!!
Yes listing is up, just didn't know if there were rules against posting the listing in a forum. Didn't want to step on any toes

Re: Found Mint Yenko USA 1 License Plate!!
It's a general Chevrolet ad campaign plate, not a "Yenko" license plate.Used on ALL vehicles, even trucks.
Why would you title it as such? |
Re: Found Mint Yenko USA 1 License Plate!!
Because in the research I did on multiple forums that is what I was told and found on other threads and listings, as well as by the original purchaser of the plate.
Even the listing you linked to on this thread lists it as such? |
Re: Found Mint Yenko USA 1 License Plate!!
And I think he has been mislead as well.I asked that seller the same question, with no response back.
My point is,other then trying to attract Yenko owners to buy an item, there's nothing that makes it Yenko specific. |
Re: Found Mint Yenko USA 1 License Plate!!
well my intentions were never to mislead, that is just what multiple resources have shown.
|
Re: Found Mint Yenko USA 1 License Plate!!
Understood, but someone with a plate like yours will probably see your auction and mislead others on ebay next week with the same description.
I consider this a YENKO (reproduction) specific license plate. http://www.ebay.com/itm/YENKO-License-Pl...325&vxp=mtr |
Re: Found Mint Yenko USA 1 License Plate!!
At the risk of being stupid...
does anyone think someone who actually OWNS a Yenko would NOT have the wherewithal to know this isn't a Yenko specific item? People use 'Yenko' Motion' and other words simply as 'key' words during a search....I personally don't find this misleading. Is it really a big deal? |
Re: Found Mint Yenko USA 1 License Plate!!
Actually i do find it misleading. He says in the ad that its a yenko piece. Its a chevy piece...What about the people who dont have yenkos or the knowledge and would like to have it soley because they think it identifies with yenko.. I think he's dumb like a fox myself. BTW Isnt the right side of that plate repainted?? color looks off to me.

Re: Found Mint Yenko USA 1 License Plate!!
The second line, just under the heading is
Chevrolet Nova, Camaro, Corvette, Corvair, Vega, GM so those show up in a word search too, not just Yenko. Also, these will show up in a search, SS, SuperSport, Chevy, 1969, 1970. Had I been listing that plate, I would have filled in even more key words in the boxes that are above the description and tried to get even more viewers. 350, 396 and 427 come to mind as well as Rally Sport, and ZL1. Marketing is the name of the game when listing on the bay. |

Seriously? going to go into insults and then trying to trash the plate? Thankfully as a seasoned member on other forums I know enough to not let one ignorant and rude person like you tarnish my views of the board ( especially as a new member ). Was I missinformed as to the origin of the plate? YES Did I do research and ask many "experts" about the origins of the plate? YES Do I feel my listing is in any way ripping someone off? NO Your argument is the same as saying that b/c I put Nova in the title that it could lead someone to purchase thinking it is a Nova specific item. Unless someone has a ton of money to just throw around, no one is going to see a key word in an ebay listing on a plate that they know nothing about and throw down a bid for a couple hundred dollars. With that said, if you would like to share any information regarding the history of the plate I would be very happy to hear it. However if your only in this thread to be confrontational then I kindly ask you do not continue to post in it. |
Re: Found Mint Yenko USA 1 License Plate!!
Who are the many "experts" you asked about the origins of the plate?
Chuck-E-Cheese, Barney Rubble, George Jetson??? |

I will stick to forums that are not overrun with drama queens. I also have to say that I am very surprised that moderators allow this kind of childish behavior. But dont blame this moderator....I,m sure Charley has his work cut out trying to tame this crowd. |
