I wouldn't restore that car; I would freshen up the motor as needed, plop it back in the car and drive the crap out of it.

I emailed the guy to get a closer pic of the protecto plate to verify the codes, stamp dates etc

His response was - what for?

He may be hiding something or does not know how to verify some info??? Be careful i would say

Neat car if its real

Re: 69 z2/8

It doesn't look like any of the drivetrain data is on the protect-o-plate, like a second owner protect-o-plate? Odd for an original owner car.

Mark, thats what i was thinking as well - looked to be light on the data....hmm

Same week as my car, engine 3 days later. My car at 12,770 miles has no signs of pbt stampings. Saw alot of firewall taking out heater core last night lol

Interesting - high bidder so far (l***2( 337) ). This bidders history shows this bidder has bid 66% of its bidding history with this seller!

Really likes his seller!

caution!

Those numbers actually mean he has placed six bids in the last thirty days and four of those six bids were with this seller (all on this item).

bid history

Thanks for the clarification - sorry if i misrepresented someone

Having said that - so close to the BIN, why not hit the BIN button vs the risk losing the car?

Re: 69 z2/8

yes eddie, i was talking about the front edge. that would have had to have been masked off or the engine compartment would havw been painted stripe color.

Re: 69 z2/8

anyone have any orig pics of the various stripes painted on the edges of the hood, cowl, header panel and the trunk area.

Would love to see this - we are almost ready to add stripes to a z28 and would appreciate seeing some original stuff to go by.

Re: 69 z2/8

Nice looking car. Great car to restore good colors also. One thing people dont look at is the total cost of a restoration. The cost would easily be 40k plus to restore. The price of the finished car would be in the 65-70k range. So do the math. The most that car is worth before restoration is around 20k. These unrestored cars that need complete restorations ,quarters, doors, are to expensive in todays market. any thoughts on this???? thanks John p.s. another thing is the price of nos parts are still high ,but the car prices are low????
