going drag racing...sticker it up?
I am going to the nostalgia drags in July at Englishtown and I am wondering if I should sticker the fender up, I put some on with fun tack to give you an idea, what do you think?

Re: going drag racing...sticker it up?
Looks AWESOME!!! I would leave them on... You can also use a very thin magnet to hold them on!!

Re: going drag racing...sticker it up?
we only did the quarter windows in the old days Killa. When the car was street driven we would get alot AND give alot of heat to the boys that stickered the fenders up. But suit yourself. The car does look Killa though!

Re: going drag racing...sticker it up?
It was the same way in my area. Decals in the rear quarter windows, sometimes inside of the trunk lid. Looking good.
Wouldn't the Autometer decal be to modern though? |

Agreed 100% <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Hemicolt</div><div class="ubbcode-body"> Wouldn't the Autometer decal be to modern though?</div></div> Yes, it would. What is really killer is to have original vintage "local" speed shop and or original vintage "local" dragstrip decals. Tommy |
Re: going drag racing...sticker it up?
Totally agree with just stickering up the rear side windows.
|
Re: going drag racing...sticker it up?
Its not a racecar Killa just a bad a$$ street car gone drag racing for the weekend! I have a Shaws Speed Shop vintage sticker on my one quarter window and a Hooker header decal in the other. Class stickers are great also. It scares the competition some.

Re: going drag racing...sticker it up?
Have to agree with Sam and the others...car is not a race car. Just don't go overboard on the rear window decals though...sometimes less is more. 1-2 max in my book.

Re: going drag racing...sticker it up?
Car can be race car for the day have fun with the stickers!

Re: going drag racing...sticker it up?
You Guys are on it,look's good ang cool.

Re: going drag racing...sticker it up?
Here is a trick I learned from dealing with being forced to run "special event" stickers on my car.
Take the sticker and stick it to a piece of clothing before installing it. It will stick to the car but be easy to pull off. It looks baddass though. |
Re: going drag racing...sticker it up?
Thanks for all of the input, with such a mix of opinion I am going with putting them on, its just one day for fun so why not.

Re: going drag racing...sticker it up?
Try a driveshaft loop {need one to run Slicks at the track}.
|
Re: going drag racing...sticker it up?
DS loops are important Killa. Don't want any injuries to you or the car. Sticker that thing to death!
|
Re: going drag racing...sticker it up?
The car has made about 30 passes already so saftey has been updated some time ago, it has a DS loop, C clip eliminators, scatter shield, double springs and some go fast goodies.
|
Re: going drag racing...sticker it up?
day2killa how about some of the 30 passes, Drag Racing pictures soon, and go fast parts. Thanks.

Re: going drag racing...sticker it up?
Now that is Pops car and the Son's,at the race track. Now that is cool
|
Re: going drag racing...sticker it up?
Looks like you left with dad Killa. Not bad for a street car!

Re: going drag racing...sticker it up?
I'm not a big fan of stickers--never was. In fact, back when I was racing years ago, I lost (I know pretty freakin' stupid of me) a little money for not displaying stickers of products that paid endorsements. I hated the "cluttering", and was as much, if not more concerned with the appearance of my cars than the performance. I wasn't chasing the National Record. Now, with the nostalgia stuff, I'm REALLY into the appearance, and the only stickers I display are factory style price labels that the dealership left on because the car was "technically always" for sale, and some period class winner decals fromsome of the tracks where car won.
That's my opinion and you know how that old saying goes....... I'm diggin' the fact that you are serious about the day two nostalgia idea and commend you for your efforts. You car looks great and the entire presentation is awesome. I'm a Cragar SS nut and the colors, stance, and slicks are a big hit!!!Congrats and if YOU like the stickers---DO 'EM!!! |
