Tim Gilmore's 1967 427/435 Corvette
A Father's Day treat...for sure!
Bruce, Here are some shots of my ’67 427/435 Corvette. It is a very original blue/blue roadster with an original tank sticker and warranty plate. It received all its awards in 2011 including Bloomington Gold, Bloomington Survivor, Bloomington Benchmark and NCRS Top Flight. I’d like to bring it to Chicago for its Triple Diamond in November. It is also an original aluminum wheel car with five original wheels and NOS tires. There are two pictures with the blue soft top and a picture from the Bloomington Gold judging field along with an interior shot. The Bloomington Gold shot is used in many of the Bloomington Gold promotional ads. I also included a picture of the beautiful stamp pad. This car was purchased at AD Anderson Chevrolet in Virginia; it stayed with the original owner for less than one year and was traded back into AD Anderson Chevrolet. The second owner owned the car until 2005. The original warranty plate stayed with the car and the dealer pulled the tape off and placed new tape on the warranty plate with the second owner’s name. The car has the tank sticker and original warranty plate, two pieces of factory paperwork. Corvette bird dog, Jack Murray found this car in 2005 and I had an opportunity to buy it at that time, it ended up going through two other owners and was judged in 2011 at Bloomington Gold. It received Gold, Survivor and Benchmark. It also has a 2011 NCRS Top Flight award and is a Bow Tie candidate. I saw the car for the first time at Bloomington last year and thought that if I had an opportunity to purchase it again, I’d try. I purchased it in January at the Mecum auction in Florida. The car is a documented bolt on wheel car and has five original Laredo white wall tires. It also has other nice performance options all documented on the tank sticker. It is a very original car with 100% original paint, the chassis is superb and the interior is also all original. With 51,000 miles, it still drives very nice on its original, dated F41 shocks. Every date code and number “matches”, that term is used loosely, but all components and glass are original and dated. I just secured a coupe that is a twin to this car although it is a factory sidepipe car. ----I never cease to be amazed at what Jack comes up with, and this is just your type of car, Tim, the best of the best! Absolutely amazing. What a neat piece. This is the only 67 I have ever seen that had a blue top with Marina blue exterior. It really is outstanding.
----Im so happy it doesnt have sidepipes!!!.......Bill S |

<span style="font-style: italic">Tim; how about bringing in the <span style="font-weight: bold">pair</span> for MCACN this year? Seeing them side by side on one of our end-caps would sure be a sight to see! I also enjoyed seeing this beauty on the field at Blooomington Gold last year. Let's talk this weekend.

Re: Tim Gilmore's 1967 427/435 Corvette
I think I know that 8,000 mile car. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's Elkhart or Lyndale blue with a blue stripe and interior. It's a beautiful car.

Close, Marina exterior black stripe blue interior. P/S owner passed away about 5 years ago. Originally from Ohio I think the one your thinking of is a restored car. I looked at it in Conn back in 89. Was a farm car and a fork lift put a hole in one of the rear 1/4/s 7,000 miles restored chassie and paint. |
Re: Tim Gilmore's 1967 427/435 Corvette
Its Marina, Tim. The car is hostage, tough situation.
Please share photos of your coupe when you get a chance! |

Here's a quick photo in the driveway. Great tank sheet, headrest seats, bolt on's, and factory delivered with sidepipes. The original engine, too.

Re: Tim Gilmore's 1967 427/435 Corvette
Earlier, you mentioned A.D. Anderson Chevrolet in VIRGINIA-?- Any original paperwork with that address? The A.D. Anderson Chevrolet I'm familiar with was in Baltimore, MD on Edmondson Ave and was known a popular high-performance dealership. City Olds, also owned by A.D. at that time, was only a couple blocks up the street. A.D. also owned (at the same time) A.D. Anderson Olds (later shortened to "Anderson Olds" when purchased by Bill Mortimer) in downtown Baltimore city. At one time, A.D. also owned Suburban Chevrolet also in Baltimore city. If there really was a Virginia location, it is a new one on me--- my family and I have been with Anderson a loooooooooooooong time.

Outstanding cars!!!

Re: Tim Gilmore's 1967 427/435 Corvette
My error, it's not Virginia, but Maryland. Sorry......
The coupe is a Virginia delivered car. A.D. Anderson Chevrolet, Inc. 4600 Edmondson Ave Balto 25 MD That's right off of the warranty plate, the metal tag is still on the rear deck. |
