Black 69 RS/Z28 JL8 cross ram
Anyone know any thing about this car? I cannot find any info anywhere as to it's heritage, who restored, is it real, etc. Any information greatly appreciated.
69 Black RS Z28 Ditto on this one though this one sounds like it has lots of documented history. Cross ram RS/Z28 |

Rick,
Silver red Z has been discussed here before at least a couple of times. Biggest question was, why restore a 2000 mile car. Sits low. |

"why restore a 2000 mile car"
Maybe they were 1/4 mile at a time? |
Re: Black 69 RS/Z28 JL8 cross ram
If you completely restore a 2,000 mile car, then technically, mileage doesn't mean a thing anymore. The heritage and value of a low mileage vehicle has been defeated by the restoration.

Based on what I am finding about these cars it is going to be a pass. Thanks for the info everyone.

Re: Black 69 RS/Z28 JL8 cross ram
Agree!
Not sure why sellers make a big to do about miles on a restored car. If its restored it does not matter if its 2,000 miles or 200,000 miles. I laugh every time I see that! |

Re: Black 69 RS/Z28 JL8 cross ram
Does it have anything proving it is a real JL8 car ?

Re: Black 69 RS/Z28 JL8 cross ram
photos before restoration, and Jerry M certified it being 1 of the 206. Also has the original floor in the car along with door panels, seat covers.

Re: Black 69 RS/Z28 JL8 cross ram
So probably a real JL8 car but no real documentation.

Re: Black 69 RS/Z28 JL8 cross ram
Rick, Jeff B in PA had his burgundy/white JL8 car for sale on TC, the ad has been removed not sure if it sold or had a change of heart. Born in with strong paper, in Jerry's book too.

Remember that the figure 206 includes other cars than Z/28s, there are several known sixbangers with JL-8 and a few V8s. As the ad is written you might think it is one of 206 Z/28s with this option when in reality it is less than that. But no one know how few... Jan |
Re: Black 69 RS/Z28 JL8 cross ram
The silver car was on ebay with bid of 150,000 forever. I asked the guy how much sheetmetal was original and he replied .That all was original was the roof and Hood . I guess it just sat there in the persons yard and rotted into the ground ...
