69 R/S Z28

ANY ONE HAVE ANY INFO ON THE ORANGE WITH WHITE TOP RS / Z28 ON E BAY ? HAS ANYONE SEEN THIS CAR IN PERSON ?

Re: 69 R/S Z28

Nice car, but doubtful it is an original cowl hooded, spoilered car if it is an October '68 build. And if it were, you would think it would have the '68 "short spoiler." Noticed some other repop items, too, which I thought a little unusual given the description that it was all original, and in great shape when bought.
I would be a little skeptical myself, request the numbers, and scour over it ion person if I were considering spreading out over $50KUS.
Purely my opinions here...

Cool color combo. The repro window sticker lists an M21 trans not the M22 stated in the listing?

ALLZS is right about spolier and hood and should not be black below rocker molding

Its about thirty miles from me if anyone gets serious I'll go give it a once over.

Wouldn't a style trim Z28 pre X-code tag/ X33 have blacked out rockers?

Re: 69 R/S Z28

Yes, I believe any Z21. Except the exception dark colors.

To early for the chrome tips also, but looks like a very nice Z.

Re: 69 R/S Z28

Window sticker is a repro with several odd errors. Why would a Z/28 have D90 Sport Striping? The AM/FM stereo radio didn't need a rear speaker. Lists Special Interior Group instead of Custom Interior.

Car seems to be nicely done but incorrect parts were used as noted. Head rests are odd and it shouldn't have a Rosewood N34 wheel.

I saw this on there about 2 days ago. It made question the car when there was no Trim Tag picture and no real paper on the car to speak of.

Re: 69 R/S Z28

You guys are right on about questioning this car. I asked the guy about the dealer sticker and the car being to early for the ZL2 hood and having the later spoilers, since he says it it some gold crown show winner, his response was " Go F*ck yourself!" . So yah I would highly skeptical of all the details of this car. I also started a thread on CRG not knowing you guys were talking about it here. They picked the car apart as well.

Trim tag is a repro. The car used to be 79-79 711.
He sent me an engine pad pic - isn't great, but looks possible original.

Nice background info Kurt. Why change from RG to HO and end up delegitamizing the car with a bogus TT?

I was told the car was VERY rusty before resto, full floors, quarters, roof skin, and sheet metal does not line up well. As with all purchases; buyer beware....
