It's about time you get some pix. up over here.
Looking good Brian. |
Re: My Motion Vega clone project
Wow! I was surprised to see a Rat Motor shoved down in there. I love the early Seventies' Vegas with their tail lights and front grilles. Looks great with the five lug hubs all around and the 12 bolt out back.

Re: My Motion Vega clone project
This is such a classic looking photo. From the tires, stance and color...I am very interested in seeing how this evolves.

Re: My Motion Vega clone project
Photo sizes are great. You can reduce them by clicking the "edit" function just below your photobucket photo. Place your cursor on your larger displayed photos and you will see a drop down menu. Select "resize". Pick what dimensions you want and you can either modifiy the size of the current/original photo or save your new resized photo in addition to the original size photo.
Good luck!! |

Ha! I can see that I'm not the only one that's a fan of the tailgate workbench!
|
Re: My Motion Vega clone project
Same here,tailgate workbench,the best.
|
Re: My Motion Vega clone project
Yup,it was 85 degrees here so it was a good day to do it outside and the tailgate looked like a good workbench I hate all the dust inside my shop, the dash is at the interior guy now,I will post up the finished product.

Re: My Motion Vega clone project
That is so cool.

Re: My Motion Vega clone project
Did you have to run the fans at all times? If not, what did the temp come down to when you turned them on?

The fans are on a thermostat only for now,I will add a switch later after I get it dialed in,one less thing to worry about,I always forget to turn it back on |

a few more wires hanging down and an FM converter would be acceptable maybe a pearlescent sticker from a local radio station |
Re: My Motion Vega clone project
I love this thread. It brings back memories of the '72 Vega GT (Hugger Orange) that I built in '77. Same wheels and same stance. Mine had the complete engine and drive train from a '68 Z/28 that I had owned from '71 to '73. I was a poor college kid back then, everything was done on a budget. I did install orange shag carpet and used a short stick Hurst shifter intended for a mid sixties Corvette. I had to have a custom radiator built using 2 Vega side tanks that were dimpled to fit between the frame rails. I remember having to push the water pump hub back on the pump to get clearance for the fan. Then grind the front groove off of a couple of 2 groove pulleys and used a spacer on balancer to get everything to line up. Keep up the good work! Dave
