Charley gave ngtflyr Dave and I a personal tour of this other-worldly creation. It is some of the finest, most innovative engineering I have ever witnessed (have seen some impressive Naval &amp; Air Force pieces in my day). Best of luck Charley. If you have never had the pleasure of hearing this car go through the fire up procedures, you must. Just like listening to a real P51 fire up. Somebody asked me what the Jan. 2012 page 111 HMN ad meant,where it said Charleys' '55 will be &quot;Sold On Bill Of Sale Only.&quot;
Told him I would imagine that meant that you will not get a title for it,most likely because it's not street legal anywhere in the USA.

The car could be street legal in the US but it does not have a vin tag. Guy that restored it thought the trim tag was the vin tag. Was street legal in Australia.

I was bummed for Charley. The sound of the car on approach would have changed the entire scenario. Heck the engine is worth than the high bid but when it does not run perceptions change.

They didn't show the car on the block. Another stinkin commercial at that time. The announcer said it was bid to 200, but was a no sale. The announcer also commented that the engine alone is worth a million.
