1967 black/white 427 Corvette

1967 Corvette convertible. This is one of the most beautiful color combinations that Chevrolet built, black exterior with black and white interior, white stinger hood, whitewall tires and a white convertible top (black hardtop, too). This is a 427/390 HP motor with an M21 transmission and 3.36 rear gear.
The car was sold new at Ernest Allen Chevrolet in Fort Worth, TX and sold to the second owner in 1989 with the original title. The second owner sold it to me after 22 years of ownership.
The car was restored by Ken and Gary Nabers in 2002 and received a Bloomington Gold award that summer. It has received two NCRS Top Flight awards, one at the 2006 San Antonio Nationals. It has scored over 98% at all judging events.
The car has the original very clear tank sticker showing all colors and options and it has the original, unaltered engine, transmission and rear end. The front surround panel was replaced during the restoration with an NOS piece due to minor damage (I have great pictures from the original owner). The car was painted in original lacquer paint, but it did receive minor deductions for the paint being too nice. It has been driven about 300 miles since the restoration and it is still crisp. I have the car priced at $140,000. My pictures need to be downsized to be posted, I’m working on that.

That is beautiful. I just sold my 67 390 roadster, Goodwood Green with white stinger and black/white interior. I've never seen a REAL black 67 with B/W interior like this one. Would love to have this one replace the one I just sold, but sadly above my price range. Best of luck with the sale

----Geez Tim,,,, Couldnt you just let me know about all this cool stuff ahead of time? Where did this 67 come from? I (sort of) thought I knew where all the Black/white combos were and now you are throwing me this loop. What a great piece!!!!!!!......Bill S

Re: 1967 black/white 427 Corvette

Guys, thank you for the kind words. I had no idea how much interest this car would generate. It sold today thanks to a buyer Rich P had lined up. Rich called me and shortly after his call, the buyer called me. The car sold immediately during our conversation. Thanks to this website too, Charley. Yes, you can have it (where’s the blue ’67 435?) Thanks for posting the pictures, too Bruce.

Bill, I sent you a PM, but I don't think it went through.

That is one of the best looking combo's on a midyear I have seen.

Re: 1967 black/white 427 Corvette

Thanks Tim! You made my job easy with a great car with NO issues. Now if I can find a killer a 67 435 with no issues, I will be all over it, also a great color would help too!!! Working on a Red/Red convert and will have to see if he is on planet earth!!!

Thanks again Tim....

Black was the lowest production number with only 815 '67 Corvettes in that color!

I would bet there is more red ones then they made! I know nobody would take that bet! LOL!

Rich, you are correct, lots of fake red and black 435s. In fact there were a couple of red/red 435s on ebay recently and both have "issues" I have been around these cars for almost thirty years and I have only seen seven red/red 435s that have their original motors and trim tags. Red with a black interior was much more common than a red interior but even finding one of those without issues is a pretty tough thing to do.

Re: 1967 black/white 427 Corvette

So that would mean that there are a lot less Green and Blue ones than originally produced? I think Green is going to be the "new" Black some day soon

I am sure there are fewer green cars out there. Thankfully there are some very knowledgable people that can tell the difference between "live and memorex" I would be willing to bet that fraud also exists in the supercar world.

In that case, I would like to retract my last statement.

Re: 1967 black/white 427 Corvette

Supply and demand, Stefano. The green ones became red ones before the trim tag science made it a mortal sin to bring a car to NCRS or Bloomington with a fake trim tag. The car goes to limbo forever if it has a fake trim tag.
