1969 L78 el camino (super low miles)
I am posting this for my friend, and consider this a real rare muscle car worthy of this site. I almost bought this car. It has the original motor and I spoke with the original owner.
If you ever wanted a sweet el camino, this is it. He is asking $48K obo. Don't be afraid to offer something less. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet...=item43aac1fe77 |

Re: 1969 L78 el camino (super low miles)
----A couple of members of this sight and I were at Pavillions several years ago and one of them asked me what I thought of a candy apple maroon El Camino down the isle. Well, it was this car (truck). They bought it and took it back to Texas. I wanted it too but just had too much stuff going on to pull it off. This is a great El Camino. As you can see by the pictures it still needs tweaking (mostly under the hood) but the bones are excellent. As before, I still have too much on my plate or I would be buying it. It wouldnt replace my "L89/M22" El Camino (one of one ever built) but at least I would be able to drive this one while I opened and shut the vent windows (read the description).....Bill S

bill, that is cool to know about this car (plus you have an L89!). For when this does sell for planet earth pricing, someone will get a bargain. If anyone wants to use me to help negotiate the down the earth pricing I am more than welcome to help. six three zero 485 8249. |
Re: 1969 L78 el camino (super low miles)
----Bob,,,"Had" would be the correct word here as I sold the car to the owner of Mr.Gasket (Joe Hrudka) back in 1975 or so with 16,000 miles on it. Thought I was selling for the very last dime at $5,500. would love to do over that transaction! I think the car resides in New Jersey now, but if Im wrong someone please correct me......Bill S

Re: 1969 L78 el camino (super low miles)
I spent lots of hours on that white El Camino. It's a great car with a great story. Paperwork and real motor, too.

Re: 1969 L78 el camino (super low miles)
----Tim,,,Three questions.
----1. Did you guys get the paint done before it went away? ----2. Are we going to see you at the show? ----3. Who put the caution sticker on it? ......Bill S |

Re: 1969 L78 el camino (super low miles)
Did this El Camino have a 427 in it when the original owner sold it? I talked to a guy in MN a few years ago that had an identical one, but with a 427. He had the original engine stashed. In fact, the NOS 69 Chevelle inner fenders that I bought were from the guy. I have his name in my records somewhere.

same guy. he had NOS stuff I guess (was a chevy dealers parts counter guy for years). He ran an L88 in it for a while I believe, and may even another radical engine. had the original engine on the side is what he told me. he is still around too. |

Thanks yenko.net. |
Re: 1969 L78 el camino (super low miles)
It's a great car with the L78, I can't imagine it with an L88.
Holy cow......... |
Re: 1969 L78 el camino (super low miles)
This car was in Bovey MN most of it's life. The original owner worked at Iten Chev and traded his 69 SS 396/L-78 nova for it. The car was painted candy apple red with etched windows and tru spoke wires most of time it was up here. Real deal low mile 396/ L-78 el camino.

Re: 1969 L78 el camino (super low miles)
I think its going up to canada if the wire went through. It is a fine ride for sure.

yep, 31500, went to a collection in canada. Only one guy stepped up to the plate for the asking price. Everyone else wanted it for 30K (probably 5-6 people), so we decided it should go to the one guy that really wanted it bad and would put it in a collection (it deserved). |
Re: 1969 L78 el camino (super low miles)
