The parts were all there complete smog, original tires, all shocks, alt, dist, carb, brake pads, blue bleeder caps, all valve stem caps, jack, plug wires, belts, hoses, clamps. The shifter is gone,so I need on. The docs include window sticker, build sheet, order form, misc.papers and the 1972 plates. |

Re: 1970 nova l78 5300 miles
Had my shot at buying that car last year. I have known the sellers for years. Nice people and nice car. I prefer drivers and that car put back together belongs in a museum or major collection. Ron.....

Re: 1970 nova l78 5300 miles
Ron, IMO that car is a perfect driver. A real car with no fluff. Perfect correct Day-2 with vintage parts. Would be my favorite driver on weekends.

Re: 1970 nova l78 5300 miles

Re: 1970 nova l78 5300 miles
Congrats John, that car is an an eerily similar story to my 70, same color, exterior trim, black vinyl top and dog dish wheels. My car was off the road since 1976, was to be cut up for a drag car and had 53,150 orig miles on it when found, wierd. Good luck with it.

Re: 1970 nova l78 5300 miles

|
Re: 1970 nova l78 5300 miles
Nice Find! More pictures please!
What's the build date of the car? Does it have an open element or dual snorkel air cleaner.... curious as to what style of smog tubes it has if it does have the dual snorkel. |
Re: 1970 nova l78 5300 miles

Re: 1970 nova l78 5300 miles
After laying eyes on John's Burnished Brown '69 Z and his latest Fathom Green '69 L78 Camaro I can't imagine what this Nova will look like. The man does remarkable work!!!
It's gonna be stunning: GUARANTEED! |
Re: 1970 nova l78 5300 miles
yes John and his guys are second to none AND also on the detail that many people don't even see or really know what goes into these cars. Talk about crossing every T and dotting every eye, he is the man.

Re: 1970 nova l78 5300 miles
Was this car from Chicago? Did this blue Nova have a grump lump scoop and a chrome straight axle at one time?? he one from Chicago was also fathom blue L78, bucket seat 4 speed, no side molding as welland had the same mileage, the front end was off as well as the custom sub frame was removed in '72/73and the owner never got around to putting back in the stock subframe...and it was parked since 1972 or 1973 as well...I spoke to the original owner several years back and he still owned it and said all the custom parts were off the car and he was planning on putting it back to stock and the front end sheetmetal was off the car.
Hmmm... if the same car it needs to go back to it's Day 2 form. |
