1969 Nova Survivor
I just had to post this given that there are a lot of guys here that share my taste for originality and patina...
http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...5a44d1e999.jpg http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/cto/2044214580.html I'd pick it up for myself, but I'm already trying to make room in my garage for something else. On that note, if anyone can steer me towards an unrestored COPO or supercar (as per my wanted post), I'd appreciate it. |
Re: 1969 Nova Survivor
That's cool...Hmmm....

Re: 1969 Nova Survivor
Nancy Gibb would look great in that car!

Re: 1969 Nova Survivor
I'm doing well, thanks... I've been busy shoveling snow and flooding the rink in the back yard for the kids.
Merry Christmas to you and yours! Life would be great if I could find a COPO with the patina that this Nova has! |
Re: 1969 Nova Survivor
Can anyone tell me what that color is(was) called ?
very cool !! |

Re: 1969 Nova Survivor
Seller says it needs paint, don't tell him it's better without. I am really getting tired of shiny cars.

Re: 1969 Nova Survivor
Agreed; it doesn't need paint, just some love and attention.

Re: 1969 Nova Survivor
I couldn't have said it any better!

Re: 1969 Nova Survivor
ditto x 4
|
Re: 1969 Nova Survivor
I love survivors but I do think this old girl needs........paint!
|
Re: 1969 Nova Survivor
*I* disagree ...
too many shiny cars, not enough of the real deal stuff left no one will remember what they looked like after 5 years of use |
Re: 1969 Nova Survivor
There is a thin line between having a pretty nice survivor or having a real nice repainted car. Maybe does not need to be restored, not crazy about restored cars anymore but to paint? Why not? Can always paint it lacquer were it will not shine as much.

Re: 1969 Nova Survivor
Hay Sammy...."Paint it lacquer so it wont shine as much"...
|
Re: 1969 Nova Survivor
The base coat clear coats seem to be more shiney than the original lacquer jobs it seems to me.

Re: 1969 Nova Survivor
do like the rat rod guys, paint clear over it as it is ...
|
Re: 1969 Nova Survivor
Leave it alone and drive it.

it's got to be "satin" not "gloss" |

That line gets even thinner at public shows, going out for a burger and in the garage with the bicycles. I like the patina that just needs a little wet sand every few months Tired of freaking out over a scratch, I want to DRIVE these cars! |
Re: 1969 Nova Survivor
Is this car at the high or low price point for a Nova SS...?

Don't care about little road nicks etc. Don't care if I owned a restored COPO, I would drive it. NO lawn ornaments in my garage.. |

That would be a one day sale at that price here in NY, not sure how it measures up in the rust free zones. My last three out of state purchases have taught me a lot. I will NEVER buy another snow belt salt soaked rust bucket!! |
