Congrats to CHP, NHRA
Here's a nice link for the racers with detailed season photos. Record breaking year for Mcneish. We never did that good back in our heyday when we were young.......LOL!
http://z28camaro.com/azcms/gallery.p...mp;gazimage=21 Bob This post was made by Jerry MacNeish. You see SSRSBOB is Jerry MacNeish confirmed by IP and other sites he joined with same IP address. Very lame attempt at self promotion. Gotta love how he even misspelled his own last name- Mcneish |
Re: Congrats to CHP, NHRA
Speaking of Jerry, I have yet to read where he has backed up his accusations that attendees of the SLS at Carlisle were paid.
IMO, he either needs to provide solid evidence of this occurring, or admit he wrong and apologize to those involved. |

Re: Congrats to CHP, NHRA
I was on the phone with CHP this morning and asked him about this issue. Mcneish told me that there was an ACA meeting during the show weekend and he was told that people were being paid to bring cars there. This info came from the staff. I have no reason to doubt him. He's been very honest and straight forward with our dealings with CHP.
I'm not going to get involved in the politics of the hobby, I'm too old for that. My boys can deal with that if they get more involved with the cars and hobby. I was thankful to get referrals on this site for getting our engine done w/CHP. I raced a lot during the '60's and '70's and no matter how you cut it, Mcneish has accomplihsed stuff in the NHRA race world that many never achieve. That's my two cents worth. Merry Christmas to all here, Bob |

Re: Congrats to CHP, NHRA
FWIW ... I have had cars involved in the solid lifter showroom since its inception and i have never been paid to bring cars to the show nor would i ever expect too. It's all about the cars and hobby right ??

I had no personality issues with him or his staff when we were there. Has always had time to answer stupid questions of mine when ever I called.....and always returned phone calls.

When any of you have accomplished HALF of what JM has in our hobby be sure to let us know.

Re: Congrats to CHP, NHRA
Plenty of folks have accomplished admirable things over the years. They just don't go around beating a personal drum to draw attention to it. I'm not about to go into what I've accomplished with my life, but I sure did find the little wisecrack funny. If that little funny bothers you, then maybe you should take a deep breath and count to ten.

Re: Congrats to CHP, NHRA
I don't think that Mcneish has any ego issues that I saw. Others on this site have said the same. I found him to be humble and helpful with all of my projects......and answers a lot of my stupid questions! If he chooses to put a link on his site about having a good race season, that's being a good businessman. I would do the same.
I also know that he's working on some MAJOR sponsorships for next season. I see nothing wrong with promoting a great race season. Tim Bishop who is a life long friend of mine had nothing but high praise for Mcneish as a person and racer. Bishop and others on this site helped in my decisions on how to spend my hard earned money on an engine rebuild. Bob |
Re: Congrats to CHP, NHRA
JM has been banned from this site for no particular reason. That bothers me. Mindless snide remarks are insignificant.

I have no reason to believe Jerry isn't a great guy too. But sometimes what folks write and portray on internet bulletin boards and in other places comes off as self-serving. Sometimes it sounds even more than self-serving. And plenty of people (me included) don't find that particularly.... uhm flattering. Count me out. I have nothing more to say on the topic. I'm done. Wayne |

Not true. Jerry was banned from this site for personal attacks towards club members and has done nothing to warrant lifting the ban, as he continues to attack members on other sites, such the remarks regarding members taking part in the SLS. Dragging those ramarks to this site, as Bob did, is bound to draw negative comments towards Jerry. In fairness to Jerry, I would say it would be best if his exploits were posted on other sites, not here. |
Re: Congrats to CHP, NHRA
I just think if people are going to bash Jerry he should be able to defend himself on this or any other Site. Maybe we can get to the bottom of why he was banned from the SYC. Trial by jury be granted. About being self serving........there are many in this hobby that do that. Nobody is perfect BUT he is an excellent drag racer who IMO keeps the 302 on the map in NHRA. Should be worth something!!
|
Re: Congrats to CHP, NHRA
Sam, I stated above why he was banned, and remains banned.
Usually when one is banned we do not allow any mention of them on here, as they cannot defend themselves from negative posts, but out of respect for you and others, we allowed mention of Jerry, his racing and even his services, but when the false accusations he made towards members taking part in the SLS were made public, it became obvious Jerry has an axe to grind with the sYc. Therefore I feel it best, that comments, good or bad about Jerry, be made elsewhere. |
Re: Congrats to CHP, NHRA
SSRSBOB....the version of what I got from Jerry was that the ACA meeting statement didn't actually point out the SLS showroom as being the ones that got paid. I doubt you can find anyone that was at whatever meeting that was that would make that statement and back it up with facts. Based on that his comment was more of a personal attack for personal reasons. Most of the owners that had cars in that showroom are members here.
Jerry was temporarily banned awhile back and it became permanent when he threatened legal action against the site. This site does not need to spend money with attorneys each time someone gets mad at us. It became very black and white on what to do when legal action was threatened. You guys can keep dragging this stuff up and it will get ugly again, people will post past actions again etc etc etc. He will survive without this site and if you don't keep asking, you won't get answers you don't want to hear and then we won't have people wanting for Jerry to be able to come here to defend against those answers. Just let it go. |

OK Tom, I am picking up what you are putting down. Needs to be settled if ever, by the parties involved. Won't change my views on Jerry or anybody else BUT I am not here to rub salt in the wounds. If anybody needs to know how he is running they can go to YouTube or his Site.

Re: Congrats to CHP, NHRA
Myself, another sYc member with his Yenko and my customer and also sYc member with his LS6 were all present at the SLS show and none of us were paid in any way. That being said, I have no beaf with JM (at least not until he made comments about the quality of the cars present at the SLS) but I still am not looking for a fight. This all needs to end here. Just to jog your memories, the last time two people got into a tift here we lost a LOT of good members due to people taking sides and turning against each other. Lets not see that happen again as we cannot afford to lose more good people here. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but lets not lose friends over it.

Amen...

Re: Congrats to CHP, NHRA
I was there when Jerry walked in the building. I talked to him we have always got along. For the record I was not paid to bring my car.He was with one ahole that busted my chops about my car. I had a great time!!
|
Re: Congrats to CHP, NHRA
Kim I wish I had known you were in that building as I would have tried to meet you. I got to meet Jerry while he and another guy were looking at cars in that building, but I forgot his name Larry or Terry? Memory isn't all that good. Maybe he was the ahole you are talking about....but Jerry has been always friendly to me on the phone as was the gentleman with him that day. I didn't know that people get paid to bring cars to shows, sign me up then! Just joking, don't like to do many shows indoors anymore. Drive em and enjoy.

Re: Congrats to CHP, NHRA
Hey, It would been to meet you too Julian. There was two guys with Jerry. Larry & Terry.
|
Re: Congrats to CHP, NHRA
Kim I didn't know anybody there but I heard someone say that Jerry was there so I saw who they were pointing at and walked up to him. I am thinking the guy that was with him was Larry as that is the name I recall. Older gray haired gentleman with glasses but nobody else was with them that I saw. Good showcase of cars and I was like a kid in a candy store. Brought back some good memories from the old days. The old pro stock Camaro in the corner got me to start back building my race car. Right now it is on hold for the holidays, maybe even the winter. Maybe next year if I can get the wife to let me have a yard pass again.
|
Re: Congrats to CHP, NHRA
What pro stock car are you talking about??
|
Re: Congrats to CHP, NHRA
There was an early 70's Camaro pro stocker that was sitting up next to the windows in the front left corner when you walked in from the service bay area. There was either a Camaro or Nova being displayed in there that was under restoration, pretty neat way to display a car.
|
Re: Congrats to CHP, NHRA
Ahh sir Kim, I am sorry I did not know that car was yours! Doing some digging on Google and a lot of pictures bring back over here. Nice ride and it has some documented drag racing history with it too boot! Young man keep preserving it for other generations.
