Yenko in PA field
Kind of a long shot. These photos were taken about 10 years ago of a car that looks like a Yenko in a field up in northeastern PA. Anybody on this site ever seen these before? Is the car known?

Re: Yenko in PA field
That car took a good hard hit in the front. I hope it is in someone's garage restored or not.

Re: Yenko in PA field
Is that Yenko Tuxedo Black, Gold stripe?
|
Re: Yenko in PA field
It's actually green with a white stripe - very faded. Rumor had it that it lost a battle with a bridge abutment. A friend sent me these pictures that he took a while ago. I've got an APB out for #616414 in PA (from another thread). This is one of the leads that turned up. Thanks to those who have forwarded info.

A guy about a mile from me has a split window, a 58 and a 71 Vette rotting away in his yard, along with a few other cars. James |
Re: Yenko in PA field
Yes that car has been rescued and has been restored and in a private collection as we speak. The "MOF"

Re: Yenko in PA field
The car has been known for quite some time, it was redone and was at Carlisle last year.

Re: Yenko in PA field
Did it retain it's orig. body during resto ?

Re: Yenko in PA field
Ask the owner!

Re: Yenko in PA field
Is he a member of this website?

Re: Yenko in PA field
Where are the pictures of the finished product!!
|
Re: Yenko in PA field
Did the car come from Pine Grove Pa. (Northeast Pa.) then to NY????? I may have looked at that car some years ago. What color is it now?
|
Re: Yenko in PA field
Finished car pics should be in last years GM at Carlisle thread. I don't believe that car was ever in Pine Grove. The last owner of DOT record was in the Scranton area - Laceyville, PA if my memory is any good. I believe it was a Stauffer sold car. It is painted Fathom Green, its original color.

Re: Yenko in PA field
The car I looked at in '99 or 2000 had a VIN plate # of 616414 that was a true yenko VIN, but a different cowl confidential VIN of 587974. So is this fathom green Yenko restored car mentioned above a different car body that was "retagged" or the true original car body that was in the heap pile?

Re: Yenko in PA field
Just found the other thread on the z28 clone addressing 616414.

Re: Yenko in PA field
Is there a reader's digest answer to your question?

Re: Yenko in PA field
Probably should start a new thread, but this reminds me of a Yenko Camaro that I could have bought a while ago. It was a RG car sold from Breese Chev. originally. I even called Ed C. about the car at the time. The car was offered to me for an excellent price, but I passed on the car when I found out some of it's history. Does anyone know what ever happened to that car??
|
Re: Yenko in PA field
Don't think I know any stories about any Bresee cars, another thread would be good.
