Say a prayer please.....

Tomorrow morning JUNE 29th Mom will be admitted to St. Mary's Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois. She will be having a total hip replacement surgery, which will be hard on her at her age. Please say a prayer tonight or tomorrow if you have time. She will be admitted around 10:30 a.m. surgery probably around NOON or before. "Thank You" ALL for ALWAYS being sooooo kind and lifting her spirits when she has been so down about her health and physical condition. She misses you all very much, and with some success tomorrow and hard work she will be going to some shows again! Thank You again for being our friends....family. n.g.

As always, she is in our thoughts and prayers. She's a tough lady and will likely do great. Please keep us all up to date.

Heck, you'll need a scooter to keep up with her when that hip gets all healed up. My dad had one done. lots less pain, and good mobility.
We're all pullin for her here in IA. She will certainly be in our thoughts, and prayers.

We will keep her in our thoughts and prayers. My grandkid still talks enthusiastically about meeting you guys in Carlisle.

Now that's making an impression!:-)

She's in our thoughts and prayers too..
I've had a few friends go though this same operation too and although tender, getting up and around as soon as possible helps w/ the healing..
Does this make Helen a hippy now?.

I talked to Bob Lionberger late this afternoon. He said Nancy had sent him a text saying they got started later than planned. I then sent Nancy a note and she replied shortly saying Helen was out of surgery and DOING GREAT! She read Helen my note so we know she's awake and alert.

WAY TO GO HELEN!!!!!!

Prayers from Hawaii as well. Only difference she will notice is that the younger folks wont be able to keep up with her.

She's not that old. Tell her to hurry up and get out of bed or me and Howie will take her cars out for a joyride and you know how Howie can get....

Re: Say a prayer please.....

Evidently she heard and doesn't want you or Howie in her cars!

I just got this note from Nancy.

"Walked today without pain...could change, but so far so good. Had a great nights rest, will walk again this afternoon."

Look out; Helen's on the mend!

Re: Say a prayer please.....

I called Nancy on my drive home and everything is going well. She handed the phone to Helen and we talked for a couple of minutes but she had something important to take care of so I was transferred back to Nancy. (Helen's ice cream sundae took priority as she was getting to the Chocolate!!!)

She was hoping to go home Friday but they need to get a little blood pressure issue taken care of first (low). Hopefully a couple of units of blood will do the trick and she will be home by Saturday. She sounded great and still has her sharp sense of humor. She's up and walking and, according to Nancy, giving the nurses a run for their money. We wouldn't want any other way!
