Hats off to our Chicago Blackhawks for sweeping the very good San Jose sharks in 4 games.
Ranked the WORST all around professional sporting team just 4 years ago,they're now going onto the Stanley Cup Finals after a 49 year absence.
These guys R good!

I've been watching all the ESPN analysts and reporters from around the country (not just here in Chicago), and they all say the Blackhawks are by far the best team right now. And this team is young, so unless free agency breaks them up, they may have a several years of successful seasons.

As I said in another thread a few weeks ago, Byfuglien is the focal point right now. Hopefully, the next series (Stanley Cup) they (Flyers or Canadiens) don't try to cheap shot him, simply to put him out of the series.

Duncan Keith (Blackhawks defenseman) is a tough cookie! He took a puck to the face, lost 7 teeth, and came back in the game. [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/no.gif[/img]

Are you skipping over Montreal's 4 game sweep of Chicago in the 1992 Finals on purpose?

As a Wings fan I got to poke a stick in the eye when the chance arises!!

Congrats to Chicago, they have a great young team and deserve to be where they are. They better do it this year, as the cap will most likely prevent this group staying together for much longer.

What's with the Flyers #20 Chris Pronger at the end of each game?
Both times he swoops in to pocket the game puck and shew off the ice.
This from the city of brotherly love?

I just read the story about Pronger picking up pucks. It's really against hockey etiquette to do that, very disrespectful, especially in the opposing team's house. Pronger says the puck &quot;is trash&quot; because they lost. I guess it's like how Cubs fans throw an opposing hitters home run ball back out onto the field? Being that the Flyers are going to lose the series, Pronger is probably gathering up pucks to sell on E-Bay. [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/naughty.gif[/img]

We'll see what happens now with the series 2-0, but the Blackhawks are always phenomenal on the road.

TV Ratings have been sky high for the Blackhawks. This series had the most viewers (nationally) since the 1999 Stanley Cup, and the opening game was watched by 12% more viewers than last year's Stanley Cup opener between Detroit and Pittsburgh. Here in Chicago, the Monday night game scored a remarkable 25.1 rating, with the next closest show garnering a 4.8 (a reality show).

I think when the Blackhawks wrap this up, Byfuglien should scoop up the last puck on the ice and give it to Pronger. It will be a nice memento of how the Flyers were swept. [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/wink.gif[/img]

Last time the Flyers won the cup was 1975, the year I was born. Just had a son who shares my same birth day and we are really enjoying the games.
