That is a gorgeous car - I am a little concerned that the owner states it is a 14k original mile survivor but does not have the original trans and the vin cannot be seen on the block. As well, the engine paint looks very fresh to still consider it survivor. Other than that, this is a phenominal example of an early survivor car. I seem to remember another member of this board having the lowest mileage 2nd gen survivor Z-28 known (Charlie https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif )

Car was bought and lived fairly close to me. About 40 minutes away. Don't think Flohr Chevrolet is still there, but Ardmore, Pa is.

The inner structure of the front fenders is black not orange as it should be, the engine compartment looks very stock factory (except for the engine paint) as does the trunk.

2500 Z's in 72 and this is a 4spd in a good color... 42k is good for a solid lifter car as long as the born with drive train is there.

The inner front fenders are black due to I believe some type of rust proofing. The paint, sans the hood (repainted) is excellent and original. The trunk is to die for.

I like it and if I were in the market for a 2nd gen solid lifter car I would be all over it...especially since it's my birth year as well...

It must have been a fad at some time because my 71Z has the fender lower half of the jamb blacked out.(not the whole jamb as this car does.)

The seller says in the add that he put headers on the car but, the picture shows the exhaust manifolds still on it. Also the POP shows the transmission as P1---C which would indicate a M22 trans but, shouldn't the stamp have been P2 for a 1972 model year car. I'm not trying to knock the car, I'm just curious about some of the things in the listing (i.e. no engine stamp photo, no cowl tag shot and NO listing of the VIN which would confirm it's Z/28 status). Does anybody know this car or seller? It's certainly my kind of car, Ed

Anyone out there know if EVERY 72 Z28 Camaro came from the factory with a Z28 decal on the rear spoiler or did any come from the factory with metal Z28 emblems as well? I have a 72 Z with a metal emblem on the spoiler and have heard that some 72 Z28 Camaro's had metal emblems. Would love to confirm. Jerry

Yes, the sticker was/is the only correct emblem for 72 on the spoiler or decklid for cars without the rear spoiler. I have posted a few comments over on the Nasty Z site about this car as well.

Not to come off the wrong way, but $42k is far from a bargain for this or just about any 72Z, or even an SS-396. I own, and have owned a few 72's, and they just don't bring that type of a money. I try to keep current with their prices, and don't recall any selling out of the high $20's yet. I may have missed a few, but doubt they have reached anywhere near $40k. This car has been tampered with a bit too much to qualify as a "survivor".

I like the color, I was 16 in '72 and had a new Olds 442 in the same color.

Howdy, JCS, welcome to the site! I really like your car, and as with others here, have a couple questions.

Really sanitary job freshening up the motor. Did you pull it and repaint it? It looks great!

What happened to the headers? Did you have them installed at one point, then went back to the manifolds?

You also mentioned you installed power steering. What is the current configuration of the car now? As we see it in the eBay ad?

It has similar mileage to Charley's car, but there are some appearance differences.

Again, just asking out of curiosity. Really like it!

The car is what its described as, and a true 16K mile car. I base this on personally inspecting the car. I actually found the car when I was buying a 69 rs/ss L78. The owner had this car as well and I mentioned it to Jim and the rest is history. I have known and have been friends with Jim for over 20 years. He is a straight shooter.

hey jbsides thankyou ,i really just detailed the top half and some of the brackets ,still need to do some work like tower clamps on the oe hoses and such,headers are still on the car w/smog attatched,i might go back to stock exhaust i never really wan't to change much (not knowing what was dealer/owner done day 2),and the p/s is on the car w/72 components inc deep groove pulley gm belts thanks again jim

Jim,

Your engine compartment looks great, and the trunk appearance is excellent, as has been mentioned. I have had several second gens and none looked that good. Plus, I just dig the no console look of all business. Really nice car.
