chambered exhaust
My 69 Z has chambered exhaust. On the driver's side exhaust manifold there is a sleeve dropping into the exhaust with the donut connected to that sleeve which bolts it up to the exhaust manifold. If this is correct, does anyone sells the sleeve and the donut?

Re: chambered exhaust
I think that you may be referring to the heat riser but that would be on the passenger side of your car. All of the exhaust components that you need should be available from Gardner Exhaust.

Re: chambered exhaust
I don't believe Gardner sells parts. John, probably any exhaust shop can help you out. Maybe even Chevy Parts Dept. may have what you are looking for. I don't recall any sleeves, just direct hook up on both sides with the heat riser on the right. Its been awhile since my Z has had manifolds on it. so.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: chambered exhaust
------You can get the exhaust sleeve you want from any of the big vintage Corvette parts houses. I just got a couple from Long Island Corvette. I ordered mine out of the catalog by phone, but they probably have a very good comprehensive website.......Bill S

Re: chambered exhaust
Our '69 big block, driver side manifold has the same sleeve setup.

Re: chambered exhaust
no mine is about 6 inchs long and slids down inside the exhaust.

Re: chambered exhaust
Didn't know that they had those on cars, but I believe that the C-50 and larger trucks had that sleeve that centered the donut and kept the heat and flame of the donut. Trucks run alot hotter on the exhaust side when pulling a heavy load.

Re: chambered exhaust
------John,,,Im wondering if your 6 inch long peice is the original, or if its a cobbled version. As far as I know the shorter one pictured would be correct, and in any event would work just fine. It only sticks up out of the exhaust pipe far enough to keep the donut from collapsing inward as you tighten the bolts after all.......Bill S
