VIN vs Assembly date
Am I missing something with these dates?
Wouldn't a T0415MN engine have been built about 3 weeks after a car with a 9N62019x VIN? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-427-...=item3efc80c81a |
Re: VIN vs Assembly date
I don't know whether that engine would fit the assembly time frame or not https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif, but that seller seems to be pulling some shenanigans with many of his "just realized I had" https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif items.

Re: VIN vs Assembly date
According to CRG, last vin out in March was 623587, so that seems a little late. Might check with Kurt S or Mark C. There are some exceptions, but don't know about this one.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1967-CAMA...=item3efc81000c has anyone asked for a pic of the front pad for these two motors? thanks |
Re: VIN vs Assembly date
His distributor and alternator pictures are conveniently fuzzy.

Re: VIN vs Assembly date
I've talked to this guy on the phone, and he used to have a company called ASL in Nevada.
I was trying to get better pics of an 837 alt. he says he pulled off his COPO Camaro. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif Never did get any pics and I told him what I thought about his business practices. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/mad.gif |
Re: VIN vs Assembly date
Don Dorfman?
|
Re: VIN vs Assembly date
Think he said his last name was "Long", not Dorfman.
|
Re: VIN vs Assembly date
HHHmmmm....Don Dorfman owned/ran ASL in Sparks Nevada for many years, before it disolved.

Re: VIN vs Assembly date
No its not Don, its Greg Long. I believe he had a company years ago called Durability Plus. He told me at the time they could cast any number I wanted in a block, what a way to do business, building fake crap. He will gladly send you a fuzzy picture of one of his current original/restamped fake parts on Ebay. How is this guy still in the parts business???

Re: VIN vs Assembly date
Check out his feedback. He MUST be selling reproduction parts. 163 intakes with the same exact pictures, finned hipo balancers with the same pictures, list goes on. Buyer beware.
