MCACN 2010 Updates and Happenings
It is hard to believe that a month has passed since the inaugural Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals!
With that being said, we are off and running making plans for the 2010 edition of the MCACN show, which will take place November 20-21, 2010, and I want to start getting the word out. We need your help in spreading the word, as the show is very expensive to produce, and we need lots of spectators to make it work. We feel we have set the standard with a show that offers a great (and safe) location, excellent access, protection from the elements and much more. We are dedicated to what we all love, that being Muscle Cars, dealer-built Supercars and all things related to them. We feel we are unique in this aspect and will remain true to this theme, even more now then ever. We have a fantastic Judging team, with many of the country's most respected experts in their fields for the various makes and models coming in from various states to be a part of our team. Here are some of the special displays we have in the works; 1970 Invitational Display; as we all know, '70 was a pinnacle year for the Muscle Car. We are looking for the "Top Dogs" from each manufacturer. My wish-list includes; a Hemi Superbird, LS6 Chevelle, Rebel Machine, Ram Air IV GTO or Firebird, an outstanding Challenger or Charger R/T, a CJ Cougar or Cyclone, an R-Code Ford, a Buick GSX and several others. If you own an outstanding example of one of these cars, or have a possible candidate, please let me know. Shelby Snakepit II: With the incredible response we receieved with our first Shelby Snakepit display, we have decided to again host a gathering of Mr. Shelby's finest creations. Deuces Wild; Schoeney has agreed to coordinate a collection of Yenko Deuces that wil feature ONE of each of the available colors offered. Please contact Ken if you would like to be a part of this special collection. Motion Madness; Marty Schorr suggested we top what was done several years ago, and with his assistance and encouragement, I believe we can do it. If you own or know of any REAL Baldwin-Motions cars, please help us make some history. Buick Stage 2 Special Display; we have confirmed this one! This special display will feature not just one, but TWO authentic, documented factory Buick Stage 2 cars along with a collection of related Stage 2 parts and memorabilia. These are the ONLY factory authorized Stage 2 cars ever built, and seeing them up close will indeed be a rare treat. This is a collection that may never again be shown under one roof. Many of you may have read the article featuring the stories of these cars and their development in a recent issue of Muscle Car Review. Hemi Challenger display; many of you saw the amazing "El Hemi" Challenger which was shown by the Escalante family at our inuagural show. Well...the only thing better would be to have the El Hemi sitting beside yet another amazing Hemi Challenger; that would be the N94 that is currently under restoration and owned by one of the sYc's favorite members! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif Midget Racer display; Dr. Ken Kadziela will be hosting a very special display featuring a circle of vintage Midget Racers. This is certainly a differant kind of muscle that is a whole lot of fun and rarely seen. We want to keep things interesting, so this is one way to do it! This is just the beginning of what we feel will again set the standard. As always, if you have any suggestions, please feel free to get a hold of me any time. or call (586) 549-5291. More to follow! Bashton MCACN Managing Member |
Re: MCACN 2010 Updates and Happenings
And of course, we look forward to hosting TWO special gatherings for sYc members.
First, the sYc Supercars Showcase. This special group will feature real-deal, documented dealer-built Supercars from Yenko, Gibb, Dana and others, Second; the sYc Members Showcase; this one will feature Muscle Machines owned and maintained by sYc members. It is not too early to make plans for our 2010 show! Bashton MCACN Managing Member |

[/ QUOTE ] Thanks Dan, your assistance with this one is much appreciated. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I have several meetings scheduled in Scottsdale to line up some other great stuff, and if anyone who is hitting the auctions would like to meet up to discuss additional possibilities, please give me a call. Re: MCACN 2010 Updates and Happenings
We have also discussed the possibility of a "Cars of Hurst" feature. This could cover qite a bit, with the various Olds, Pontiac, Mopar, AMC and other creations that came out of the Hurst facilities.
This could include various Hurst/Olds, SS Darts and Barracuda's. the SC/Rambler, all kinds of cool Pontiac's and a whole lot more. Anyone out there have a cool Hurst Muscle Machine in their garage that would like to be a part of the coolest all indoor specialty Muscle Car show? Bashton MCACN Managing Member |

Bob, I might be able to help with this one.

I have a line on a very unique '74. Hemi Dart and Barracuda? SC/Rambler? Hurst Grand Prix? 300H? And I know there are a whole lot of other unique Hurst creations; bring 'em on! The three spring colors would all be Hurst trimmed deuces. Depending on the build date of the blue, or red, they could be too if they're from the last 50 cars built. |
Re: MCACN 2010 Updates and Happenings
I would like to be in the Deuce Display and the Hurst Display--can't be in both!!?? What are the chances of both display being next to each other??? So I could be at the end of one and the beginning of another??? Is this possible??? Or too crazy??

This will surely sell-out quickly, so please contact Mr. Shauger to lock in your space asap! Bashton MCACN Managing Member |

The Reynold's Buick Stage 2 car is simply amazing. Pictures don't do the car justice. Been close enough to touch it, but I dared not, even if the owner is a friend of mine.
It's definitely a must see for any and all Buick fans- and not to mention, It's owner is a great guy. |

Re: MCACN 2010 Updates and Happenings
Thanks Dan, good seeing you! It was indeed a good meet and very productive for us. Talked to some key Pontiac and Buick club members who are preparing to put together some neat displays and lined up some great cars and several new vendors for the show.
And speaking of Dan, we would like to say THANKS to Mr. Postsedan for arranging what is sure to be an amazing display of 69's for MCACN II, and also for helping us confirm several other very significant cars. You da Man!! Bashton MCACN Managing Member |

The Arizona guys are at it again!!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif
For the 2010 MCACN show Sam and I are organizing 1 or 2 trailer load of cars to head to Chicago for the show in November. We have, with the support of Bob Ashton and his management team created a corral called Desert Classics for the West Coast Participants. With the help of Reliable Carriers - we will be taking reservations for transport slots to the show, leaving from Phoenix (at this time). If we get participants from around the region including California, we will discuss with Reliable additional pickup locations. Currently we have 5 slots filled today going to Chicago with the potential for 3-4 more participants. We are working this early in order to get the best transport rates. If anyone out west is interested in joining the transport and or the corral, feel free to contact me or Sam via PM and we can discuss addtional details. I will post more info as we roll this out. We are very excited to debut some new classics not seen before. Thanks to Bob and the management team for the support!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif Bob, any more to add? |
Re: MCACN 2010 Updates and Happenings
We are honored to have Ed, Sam and the AZ gang as a part of MCACN II. Taking the initiative to make this happen is no easy task and we really appreciate he efforts and commitment of all involved.
As if that isn't enough, when you guys hear what they are bringing to the show, well...let's just say that they are certainly helping us maintain standards that we achieved last year as far as quality and rarity! So it's on...The "Dessert Classics" display is official! Bashton MCACN Managing Member |
