Cool VIN search Site

Was getting an alligment today on my 03 Yukon and the tech ran my vin on a site called Compnine. It showed the production for my Truck and its options and broke each option down by rarity. Cool info. The site also has parts and assembly diagrams.

My 2005 Suburban is 1 of 3. Maybe I'll have to take it to Barrett-Jackson https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif

Nine came up as 1 of 2. But it is a Quadrasteer, built for Canada with off road tires and bucket seats. Its the combination of rare options that brakes it down.I alo think some of the obscure codes are sales zone and plant codes.

What does your 05 have.
PS I think Mopar guys have been using this logic for years

It's just a black 2500 4X4, moderately optioned. You're probably right about the various codes causing them to be one of a kind.

Yeah, some like to TRY. There is limited factory info depending on the years. Most of it is limited to model-sub model break down with engines and trans, e.g. we know how many Super Bees were produced with 383s, 440-6, and Hemis. Of those we now how many are 4 speeds and how many were auto trans.

From 1970-up there are some percentage figures available for models for paint and options. However it is for the entire model, e.g. X% of ALL Coronets were painted a particular color. It does not tell you how many SUPER BEES were painted that color.

SOME people TRY to manipulate these percentages to work their car into a "limited production number" car, but it is all bullshit because the percentage numbers can not be broken down to a sub model.

Seems odd that they do not list the Chevy Tahoe....Suburbans are there, but not Tahoes https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif

This is for my 1996 Adriatic Blue Yukon
There are 8 1996 YUKON CLASSIC 4 DR 1/2 TON vehicles (0.013%) matching your exact options list. There are 8 (0.013%) with at least as many options.
Cool site.

Seems to work on Chevy Trucks. Although my 2001 HD is one of 3, I bet it is probably identical to a few other ones you guys own. Tried 3 German cars and got nothing.

Re: Cool VIN search Site

I have the spec sheets with vins on 5 other 03 Yukon XL with Quadrasteer, plus i Chev and I YukonXL with out QS. All came up with "only 2 made with same equipment".
Either the calculations are flawed or some of those obscure codes are sales or zone codes that make the configuration unique. If anyone had a fleet vehicle where they knew of a particular RPO unique to that fleet, would be interesting to see how it calculates. Anyone have a used Cop car that their city or state used?

I ran the VIN from my '94 ex OPP LT1 Caprice and it said it was 1 of 91 built. My '03 Silverado was 1 of 3 and my '97 454 2500 Suburban was 1 of 4.

You have a way with words Multi-mopar. Maybe you think is cool to throw around dirty words on whatever site you crawled here from. But there are many people that do not need to read that stuff here...BKH https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif

MultiMopars:

The B^##$--t mathematical process you are referring to is called "extrapolation". It is not dead on accurate but it will get you very close to the actual number. Actually, about as close as you can get without all of the data or guessing. FYI, Ed

Sorry if the language bothered some, but I have seen much worse here. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

I don't know HOW you can even use it since it is not sub-model specific. All you can do is get a % of for e.g. ALL Coronets. So if you have a Super Bee, R/T, or /6 it IS the number for ALL of them.

It won't BEGIN to zero in on a particular car.

Your inquiry make sense at its is likely that 91 identical 9C1 Chev Caprices got delivered to the same sales Zone or even the same dealer, having all been built at the same plant.
The smaller number on the various trucks submitted could also be correct if one of the RPO codes is a sales Zone code.
I took a few serial numbers from some Impalas and Caprices for sale on ebay and came up with realistic numbers, such as 24 similar Impalas sold in the Chicago suburb area.
