I'm looking for smog brackets for a 68 L78 motor. Anybody know who makes reproductions? Or possibly have originals for sale?

Jim...did you check with Joe out at the Parts Place in Elburn? He usually has all that stuff.

NO, not yet. He's usually a last resort because he's on the expensive side and not very friendly.

There a set of 68 bb brackets on ebay for 400.00. Thanks guys for the pics people say the hi perf pumps had the persure releave valve on top?

I think the pressure valve started on the 68s.I do not think 67 cars had them at least in the camaro lineup.

Early 1968 396 used 7801660 - green colored pressure setting plug

Later 1968 396 used 7801659 - black colored pressure setting plug
