Original Chevrolet Cowl Plenum Air Cleaner
 

This is an original cowl plenum air cleaner. I believe it is for a big block Chevy based on the indentation for a road draft tube as shown. I am not sure what model it is for. Possibly Camaro, Chevelle, or Impala Big Block. The air cleaner is very nice with a few modifications. First, the distributor area has been clearanced a bit. Second, it looks like the snorkel had been shortened at one point and then returned to the original length. This cannot be seen from the outside but welds can be seen inside the snorkel. The plastic piece than connects to the cowl is in good shape with one corner chipped off as shown. I do not have the rubber sleeve that connects the 2 pieces. I took off the decal shown to expose another decal that reads,"Genuine Chevrolet Gobblers."

One just sold on team chevelle recently, and it took months to sell, finally when the guy dropped under a grand, it sold....tuff market....

I will probably try ebay eventually. I usually try to post the "rare" stuff here first to give you guys a shot at it at or below what my reserve will be. I've been around here for awhile. It is like giving homage before taking it to the wolves.
