69Z driveshaft paint stripes
Does anyone have a pic of the correct colors and measurements of the paint stripes on a 69Z (4:10) driveshaft? Finishing up my Z and this is one of the missing final pieces. Appreciate any help on this.

Dave my Z is a 4:10.. I have this pic of the factory original marks. I can measure tonight if someone doesn't get you the info first.

Re: 69Z driveshaft paint stripes
I guess if Dave was looking for 68 L78 info that would work.

Re: 69Z driveshaft paint stripes
I guess I should add that it is a M-21. Does that have a bearing on stripe colors, or the number of stripes?

Re: 69Z driveshaft paint stripes
I was just gonna ask that. Mine is an M22. Mark B has an original low mile Z with the same stripes as mine. Not sure what tranny or rear is in that car.

1969 Z/28 M22 4:10
I am guessing that it is striped white (faded and yellowed) and orange. These are the only 2 marks that I can see on the driveshaft. If there were more I'd think they would be visible as these are very clear. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...o/IMG_4423.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...o/IMG_4422.jpg |
Re: 69Z driveshaft paint stripes
Looks the same as my 67 z/28 with M21
https://www.yenko.net/attachments/206...riveshaft1.jpg The first marking towards the yoke is where something was rubbing and isnt a paint mark. I think ornage and white was pretty typical of manual trans cars https://www.yenko.net/attachments/206...riveshaft5.jpg |

Re: 69Z driveshaft paint stripes
Here's how mine turned out, 11 inches from the end of the driveshaft. With the flash pic the driveshaft looks two-tone, think that was just where I had it masked and now dustfree. Cant see it naked eye. I just masked a 3/4 inch wide stripe 11 in from the end, spraypainted it. Waited a few hours, masked the next stripe and repeated the process. Could also do it with one of the foam brushes. Car was on jackstands and just rotated the shaft by hand.
