Identifying Big Block Valve Covers

Does anybody know if there is a website that shows the applications of different BBC valve covers? I have a bunch of old chrome dripper valve covers and would like to ID them. Crane Corvettes used to have pictures of many of them but the pictures have been pulled. I plan to sell the covers and do not want to misrepresent them.

Thanks,

Jason https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: Identifying Big Block Valve Covers

Many of Crane's valve cover auctions have a single picture that should get me started.

Thanks,

Jason

Re: Identifying Big Block Valve Covers

Jason, the third one from the bottom on the right side sure looks like a 69 Driver's side for Chevelles. It seems to have the correct slant at the back. Does that one have a little wire clip near the middle on the lower side facing what would be the driver's fender?

Re: Identifying Big Block Valve Covers

Top pair, left, might be 67-69 Camaro, 68-69 Nova. Any wire clips? and need an image of the end nearest the firewall of the one on top.

Top pair, right, second down looks like it might be 69 Camaro/Nova. It has the wire clip on the driver's side lower edge. Is that all the clips? Need a better image of the end nearest the firewall.

I will snap some pictures tomorrow while cleaning them. Dan, not showing off, I just don't like to be an ignorant seller. Also, if a member needs a pair I would like to give them first shot. I know you were just poking fun.

No, these covers came out of a large buy out in Northern California. Unfortunately, I have not been to Pomona or Long Beach for quite sometime.

Re: Identifying Big Block Valve Covers

OK, I gave the covers a quick cleaning and took some pictures. I tried my best to pair the covers up properly. These covers were boxed all together so I was not sure which went with eachother. I was able to pair a few from gaskets, etc. I really just used my best judgement on the rest. Pictures coming.

Re: Identifying Big Block Valve Covers

Finally, the left overs. There are 2 passenger covers. One has been robbed of the towers and clips. There is also one driver's cover that has no drippers. May be repro but feels heavy- low perf?

Don and Martin,

Did the pictures help at all? Does it look like I have the covers paired correctly?

Thanks,

1 Attachment(s)
Well Jason, seems you've got a real hodge-podge of maybe everything. I've marked a couple on the attachment of your original picture which seem to have the shape of a 69 Chevelle. However, I don't know which ones in the other photos are these two. Most of your descriptions provide multiple clips, but there was just the one clip on the 69 Chevelle cover (driver side outside).

Re: Identifying Big Block Valve Covers

OK, I know the one on the right is set one since it is the only set with duct tape around the towers. I will try to figure out which the other is. Thanks for the help.

Re: Identifying Big Block Valve Covers

Set One is 69 Camaro and probably Nova. I don't know for sure if they are the same. The driver's side has the spark plug stand forward of the rear inner bolt hole and the outside clip is for the temperature sender wire.

I don't recognize the others but I have seen some of them before at swap meets.

Re: Identifying Big Block Valve Covers

Set 5 looks to be `70 Chevelle, and in set 4 the passenger side cover is the same as in set 5.
They have the extra clips on the inside for the TCS wiring, and the clip to hold a wire by the exhaust side to a separate temp sender.
