McCreary Tires...
1 Attachment(s)
Getting ready for Carlisle....I have 2 pairs of McCreary checkered flag tires. One pair of G60 x 14 and the other J60 x 14...the G60's are in great shape. The J's have some cracking in the sidewall. I would use the J60's for a show, but maybe not for road use...the G60's would be fine. Boths sets have lots of tread, very little wear. You don't see these tires very often...very cool day 2 stuff.
asking $125 for the J60's asking $275 for the G60's I can deliver to Carlisle....thanks, wilma https://www.yenko.net/attachments/407829-tn_IMG_0870.jpg |

That's Earl hoisting the tranny back up into the Deuce. My brother-in-law was there to lend a hand. The old pick-up across the road was my father-in-law's. I loved that old truck and sure wish I had it now. Three on the tree and an old wooden bed. Linda

Re: McCreary Tires...
Oh, the old tranny bench press olympic event. I remember that from when I was a kid. Real easy with Muncies but wait til you move up to the heavyweight class and have to do the Chrysler A833 cast iron four speeds. That take some real muscle (of which I no longer have...and got smart and bought a trans jack. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif)
Here's some of those same tires on a local Oldsmobile I saw a few weeks ago: http://i466.photobucket.com/albums/r...b/SDC10348.jpg http://i466.photobucket.com/albums/r...b/SDC10347.jpg |

I remember picking gravel out of my back after laying under there wrestling a snag-n-saw tranny back into a 64 C10 more than once... Makes you really appreciate a garage https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif Tommy https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif |
Re: McCreary Tires...
Yeppers...I remember doing that on my brothers Camaro, too! At least we did it in the garage...on our backs...with jackstands.
He had a couple of problems with it...so we got really good at taking it out and putting it back in. The best thing we ever did was incorporate one of the "then current" HOT ROD magazine backyard mechanic tips...and screwed in some looooong bolts with the heads cut off...so we could just slide it in (Okay...that sounded weird https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif) |
Re: McCreary Tires...
