TCS plumbing/wiring photos please

For a '70 LT1 Nova application ('70 LT1 Corvette and Z28 too https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif ?): I need photos of intake manifold area showing the routing of wires, vacuum hoses, and metal tubes for the TCS switch to include vacuum sources and any clips/retainers for hoses or tubes. I don't mind bending my own tubes, but is there a source for correct metal vacuum tubes?

Thanks! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Same?

Re: TCS plumbing/wiring photos please

Tommy has one of each. He'd be a good place to start.

Marlin: 4 Speed
Camarojoe: 4 speed
Schonye: 4 speed
COPO Pete: 4 speed

How about Mark Hassett? There's gotta be tons of pix here somewhere.

Re: TCS plumbing/wiring photos please

I guess I assumed all the routing would be the same on top. Sorry if I gave you a bum steer.

Sam....better make sure the car you look at doesn't have NA9 CA emissions...pretty sure the TCS hook up is different on a NA9 car.

Re: TCS plumbing/wiring photos please

Schonye sent these photos to me. Is this a 4 speed Schonye? In comparing these photos to Charley's website (i was not able to copy his photos), Schonye's photos (1 & 2) have a hard vacuum line as indicated whereas Charley's same line is an all rubber vacuum line.

Last photo is one I took off the web (looks like Chuck's "camarosrus" handiwork? This same line is all rubber like Charley's.

Is Charley's CA emissions?

His was sold brand new in Il.,so no.

Very early assembled 1970 Chevelles/Elcaminos/Monte C. used all rubber TCS vacuum lines, while later had partial rubber beginnings w/metal in between do to safety issues.
I don't know what assembly practices 1970 Novas/Camaros followed.

Re: TCS plumbing/wiring photos please

Number 3 is Jack Seymour's car. A good reference as well, and a 4 speed.

Re: TCS plumbing/wiring photos please

When was Jack's Z made? Can we assume that all Deuces, because they were produced 05D, 06A, & 06B (i.e. made late in the year), would have the metal tubing (safety fix)?

Thanks.

Re: TCS plumbing/wiring photos please

While we are discussing the top of the intake manifold, do all Deuces ('70 Z28/LT1 Corvette) have a FUEL LINE SUPPORT BRACKET for the rear fuel line to the Holley as seen in photo #3 above? I noticed Schonye's photos (1 & 2) do not have one.

My car is a 04B Norwood car. M22 4:10 4 speed.

Re: TCS plumbing/wiring photos please

Thanks for chiming in Jack. Do you feel your TCS vacuum line plumbing (i.e. rubber hoses the entire circuit) is original to your 2nd week in April built Z? If so it would appear that the metal tubing "fix" came some time after the 2nd week of April but prior to the last week in May.

Also, is your fuel line support bracket painted black? What sheen?

Thanks,
Sam

Re: TCS plumbing/wiring photos please

I don't remember a fuel line support bracket. But the carbs been off a few times so it may have not gotten put back on. The TCS is all original to the car. Only thing done to it is that it was unplugged.

UNPLUGGED! Say it ain't so!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/shocked.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smirk.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Re: TCS plumbing/wiring photos please

Yes it's all rubber and original, except for the hoses mine were cracked and leaking vacuum. It all even works you can hear the RPM's change when it kicks in, and when you shift from third to fourth sitting still.
My fuel line bracket is gloss black,

Thanks Jack. Terrific info / photos.

I get my TCS housing parts from the plater today (kind of the opposite of your fine survivor steed https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/crazy.gif ). All of my internal components look to be in good shape.

Re: TCS plumbing/wiring photos please

Just back from WDW, and got to this thread. I've not seen original TCS lines on any 06B Deuces, only on 05D & 06A cars. So, if Schoneye's rubber/steel combo is original, it might represent the changeover week of 06B from all rubber lines till 06A. This would coincide with the seat belt changes as well!

For Sam's car, the lines should be all rubber.

I've not seen a fuel line bracket on any deuces as of yet, wonder what TommyK's deuces have???

mockingbird812 05-18-2009 09:13 PM

Re: TCS plumbing/wiring photos please

Good info Marlin. Is the seat belt changeover you referred to regarding retractable belts vs. non-retractable? My 06A has retractable (and non-dinged/gouged sill plates https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif).

Thanks.

YENKO DEUCE REGISTRY 05-18-2009 09:26 PM

Re: TCS plumbing/wiring photos please

Yes, the retractors were removed between the 06A vs the 06B build weeks.

Your car should have retractors since it's an 05D build (????) I'd be surprised if your car was an 06A!
