69 RS Camaro WIW?
1 Attachment(s)
Seeing HPMIKES post about the 67 Impala sparked me to create this whats it worth post. I recently looked at a 15,000 original mile 69 RS Camaro that has been off the roadd since 1985 but is extremely original and has been very well cared for. As you can see, the tires aren't original, there are a couple of small add-on's to the car, specifically a tach and I think the radiator was changed at one point but that appears to be it. I didn't have much time to look over the whole car in detail but it was very nice. The photos I have suck because I only had my cell camara at the time. The car is a very early 1968 08E car. Unfortunately its only a 327 3 speed car but its cool non the less. Any idea on value considering a true 15,000 mile car and the "3 speed".
Thanks, Mike |

Re: 69 RS Camaro WIW?
That car needs to be at Carlisle VINTAGE this summer........
Bet "Mike" is getting PM's trying to buy that one. |

There is Nothing wrong with that!! I spent many nights running a 327 2bbl 69 Camaro very hard. Had lots of fun even before upgrading motor. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif |
Re: 69 RS Camaro WIW?
I know I would have no problem paying 25K for that car. I like it alot. Is the engine compartment unfluffed ? I assume orig paint ?

Re: 69 RS Camaro WIW?
Charlie, the engine bay has never been messed with. Actually, the whole car has never been messed with. The only thing that I can see they added was an under dash tach and there is a gold colored box mounted on the fire wall. Besides that nothing appears to have been done to the car. The car is being sold by the original owners. I'm kicking myself for not getting better photos. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif Yes, the paint is original from what I was told and it looks like it. The only area was a small area on the front header panel just ahead of the hood that was dinged back in the '70's that they had fixed. The paint is really very nice for its age.
Thanks, Mike |
Re: 69 RS Camaro WIW?
I know you're asking us what's it worth, but are the owners also asking for a certain price as well?..If so what's that price they want for it?
Nice car..I personally would stand in line to bid on it. |
Re: 69 RS Camaro WIW?
No, they haven't put a price on it yet. And it hasn't been advertised, at least not yet. There has been some talk of getting it appraised prior to listing it so I'm just wondering its worth....or at least a range should I decide to make an offer. Thanks.

$30k?
a 327 manual trans IS a desirable combination .... |
Re: 69 RS Camaro WIW?
Pretty interesting ride, indeed. I can't opine regarding value but I can say that of that of the '69 RS-only cars I've seen, very, very few had a manual transmission. Perhaps the original owner wanted something sporty witout the insurance issues.

I'll take this one. Put me on the list too!

Re: 69 RS Camaro WIW?
That's a cool car! Nice color combination and the hockey stripes too! Might as well wait and see what the asking price is but I think it's a tough one to put a number on since it really comes down to personal preference on a non high performance car. V8 manual trans is still a good combo regardless.

Re: 69 RS Camaro WIW?
WOW! That's a really neat car. The RS option and the pretty white interior really make that car stand out. I looked at a red on black non-RS car that was not quite as nice as that one and didn't appeal to me near as much as this one does. Cars like this are getting to be VERY few and far between. I'll sum it up like this......this is a car that you would think and talk about for a very long time if you don't make a serious effort for it. I hate having regrets about passing on hard-to-find cars!

Re: 69 RS Camaro WIW?
Hopefully it will remain a 327/3-speed stocker and not become a Z/28 clone. Very, very cool as-is. Okay, add belted whitewalls and carefully clean it up but leave it alone. No stripes and no spoilers! Oh, and NO Rallys.
