Re: A (un)Real Toxic Asset
It's not surprising, though. I know there are guys out there that farm tags for a living, and somewhere in the world, there's probably a real Hemi 'Cuda convertible that's dead because someone stole the tags. As many high dollar cars as I've seen just in my little corner of the world missing not only the tags, but the body stamps, I know it has to be widespread, and I would bet that there are many more fakes out there than anyone realizes.

Re: A (un)Real Toxic Asset
"So basically the cars identity was completely stripped and removed and was made to look like a REAL '70 HEMI 'Cuda Convertible. Probably done not to deceive people, but rather make it as close to the real thing as you can get"
Well at least they didn't swap tags to decieve people, just did it for accuracy. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif |
Re: A (un)Real Toxic Asset
Could have done it as a helpful example to the hobby illustrating how easy it is to counterfeit stuff ...

Re: A (un)Real Toxic Asset
Just what is an "Authentic Recreation"? Is that anything like a genuine fake? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
Just asking. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif |
Re: A (un)Real Toxic Asset
"So after all of that painstaking hard work he went through to make this car seem as real as it could, the car has been brought back to what it really is."
Wheres the 383 then? |
Re: A (un)Real Toxic Asset
Funny I just saw this place in San Carlos yesterday. They must have just opened. The one in Pleasanton is just over the bridge. They move a lot of cars.
Not liking what I read in the description. |
Re: A (un)Real Toxic Asset
My wife and I purchased two cars from them in the Pleasanton location. I also had a car there on consignment for sale way back a few years ago. The owner and his son Brad are good people. They do consignments. Don't know about this car but know the staff and owners and would do business with them again based on our experiences.

Re: A (un)Real Toxic Asset
So what about the other 5 created cars, any one talking?

Re: A (un)Real Toxic Asset
Said that it was done in the 90s. They did not start cloning these cars just yesterday!

How do you go to the DMV and say "I'd like to change my VIN to the correct one from this fake one?" Not doubting this guys story yet, but it sure takes a lot of nut to stand up, tell that tale and represent this car. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/shocked.gif If nothing else, you can now get what was a half mil car for maybe five figures? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif |
