Now this can not be a GOOD sign. If there is No SCW what cool cars are we going to look at? The Reunion will be ALOT thinner. Or maybe the west coast can bring more of the pro touring kind of cars to the show that would be AWESOME. Well no more Vette Fest and NO reunions to go to guess alot of east coast guys and gals will get to save alot of fuel not having to go the the Midwest. This board is going DOWN HILL in a HURRY. I agree with Brian, when you go to a venue like the SC Reunion I love to look at just exactly that, "Super Cars." Because they are so rare like the Yenkos, Motions etc... and the old drag cars with race history like the Red Alert, Old Gibb/Harrell race car like Howie's and many others. These are just too cool!! Even more fun watching these cars drag race!!

Where else can you see all of these cars together?? You certainly can't go up to your local cruise nite and see all of these great cars!!

I agree with Tom, hopefully the SCW will be back as a sponsor soon!! Great guys and great restos!!

I joined this site for the lack of protouring stuff, If I see another 69 Camaro with a LS engine in it I will puke, but hey I guess it's the new 32 ford with a tune port... Im stuck in the west coast and thats the majority I see. I think this site is a great place with a huge amount of knowledge and good people, I would like to make it to a reunion but if it was filled with P/T stuff would be disappointing https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Although there may or may not be a Vette Fest, there will indeed be a show that not only welcomes, but will feature Supercars and the very best Muscle Cars...from not only Chevy but other manufacturers as well.

As Kwhizz stated, "the world does not revolve around SCW" (or Vette Fest or SCR, or me or anyone else). Let's focus on what brought us all together in the first place and that is not just the cars, but the people who share the passion for various things that happen to have four wheels, whether Super Cars, Muscle Cars, Pro Touring cars or ??

One door closed, and another one indeed swung open.

My apology for swinging slightly off topic.

Re: Supercar Workshop

As per the SCR, and I guess this site as a whole, yes, we have branched out to include lots of other makes, models, and yes, pro-touring, but IMO, this has helped in the tremendous growth the club has enjoyed. I love the Supercars as much as anyone, obvious by my dedication to the club and SCR for the past 12 years, but as with many other members, I enjoy what is considered non Supercars, AKA, “Red Alert”. I have done my best to balance the two, and in my humble opinion, have done a decent job.

I hope everyone will sit back and not say something they will regret later, instead let the parties involved sort though, and hopefully work things out, where we can all enjoy our hobby as one.

Brian..I have brought a Pro-Touring car to the Reunion maybe twice ? When I did it was because the car was already in the midwest. I have also brought ZL1,the 67 Pace car, The SuperSnake, a Trans Am convert but you get bugged because I bring a car type you don't like. I have worked my ass off trying to moderate guys like you and figured bringing one of my non Supercars once in awhile wouldn't bother anyone and would be OK. Consider it a job perk if you want. You have seen how many other Pro-Touring cars at the Reunion ? I also ran a rental car down the strip at the reunion so I guess that must have really bugged you also. For those of you reading this that haven't actually been to the reunion, that is about the extent of the Pro-Touring car showings.

The cars are just an excuse to get together with folks you enjoy spending time with...it's just that simple. Re: Supercar Workshop

For those of you reading this who have not attended a SuperCar Reunion, here is the list of cars attending SCR11. IMO, still THE “ Super Car Reunion", with a little flavor added in. The non-supercar section, or member rides section, as we like to call it, was added to both this site and the SCR so more members could be an active part of the club. If this site and the SCR were an exclusive club, where membership required owning a "supercar", how many loyal members would we lose? Just a thought. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif

As we have done for the past 12 years, Rob and I will do our best to get as many "supercars" as possbile to attend SCR, along with a few other cool cars. I have no doubt SCR12 will be another fun event, even if it is just the three of us. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

This is a tremendous club and site. All of the parties mentioned have made significant contributions, from virtually day one, as have many of the other members, even those who have never owned a "Super Car" by definition.

I would travel to the SCR for any One of the multitude of reasons to participate.

1) The People

2) The Events

3) The Cars

4) etc..

I sincerely hope to see everyone as well as the cool stuff they may bring to SCR12.

Tony, no thats not what anyone is saying.. I do not own a supercar and I belong to the site and am a member. There are lots of others also like this.. It's all about the hobby and people like the others have said.. I totally agree with that!

But with the Supercar Reunion Show its nice to see just that, Supercars... I know there were some stipulations as to what cars could be brought there.. Haven't been online much recently....only to check on Charley's 70 Z28 and the recent Copo barn find, so I missed what has taken place.

I would like to say as someone who has been here for some time, I have always enjoyed seeing the Supercar Workshop work. I have learned a tremendous amount of knowledge from them and think they are a great asset to the site. Plus Brian and Joe are very good guys.

I don't know what the issue is but I truly hope it's something that will work itself out.

Re: Supercar Workshop

Just want to add my .02 for the hopeful return of Brian and Joe, aka The SCW.

Everybody here may be equal, but fact is that Brian and company is very influential in the SuperCar "hobby".

Many people will follow Brian's lead, whether it be here, there or where ever.

I have seen many leave this site over the years such as Kevin Suydam to name only one.

Camaros At Carlisle 1st Gen LEGENDS Judging lost BKH in 2008'. Somebody find the statistics of what % of 1st Gen LEGENDS entrants were SCW customers, since the classes inception. I greatly respect the man, and just dont want the "hobby" to lose a valuble asset.

I am asking that whomever can and will, extend an olive branch and bring the SCW, back. I would miss him eternally.

Sincerely, Chuck

i have been lurking here since the last reunion. i stumbled across the reunion by visiting friends in st.louis. we kept seeing trailer after trailer piling into gateway raceway. so we stopped in. truly a great race day. i am kind of saddened by the statement above about it being only for "supercars". (at least thats the way i took it) one of the neatest cars there wasn't a yenko, copo, gibb, nickey, berger or whatever else was there. it was a junior dragster !! it was painted like a yenko and had all the emblems and such. we spent most of the day watching this young man make his first attempts down the dragstrip. it was great to see. we talked with him and his father for some time and although they didnt have a 'supercar" it was great to see the youth starting to gain interest in this hobby we all love so much. so i hope that this doesnt turn away non supercar owners from being able to bring their own cars to this great race. i do believe that i did see on the dragster the super car workshop logo, that must mean that the guys from the SCW also want to see kids and families like this one continue to support this site and hobby for many years to come in the future. sorry my first post is so long. i hope that i didnt offend anyone with this post. i want to see all members car stay a part of the reunion. after all, they all are "supercars" in their own form.

Re: Supercar Workshop

It is and always has been about the people NOT the cars. I don't think I would even notice if there were no cars at the reunion........ok, maybe a little. The point is, ALL of my friends today are fellow car enthusiasts and most have come through this site. I very much enjoy seeing some of the other iron show up at the reunion and especially at the drag races. One of Annie's most enjoyable times was racing her Nova and that included the run against Charley's pace car with the top down and the flags waving. Great day. In that same breath I think most of us can honestly say we wait is suspense to see what the SCW guys are going to unload from the trailer and the best are when they are cars that are under construction. I think everyone would agree that they enjoy those times especially when the wheels almost came off Tommy K's unfinished car when we moved it for a photo shoot. Classic moment!

The point is, not all of us agree with or like everyone on the board but have to admit that virtually everyone here with rare exception brings something to the board. I think we all need to spend na little more time before hitting the keyboard and take a deep breath before stating things that are either hard to take back or should have just been kept to ourselves.

There is plenty of fighting going on oversees for things we stand for. Lets all try a little harder to get along on this side of the fence and not fight over what most would consider to be petty things in the whole scheme of things. Everyone has a personality, thank God and we all need to just relax a little and not get so bent out of shape all the time. I want nothing more than to see the sYc the same it was several years ago when the worst thing that was said on a thread was someone upset with themselves for not being the one to find the latest barn find. Without VetteFest and some other shows around anymore it is now more important than ever to have a great show at the SCR reunion with ALL......the past participants and many new ones.

After spending another week with Kwhizz and having some nice talks, I agree with him. There are WAY more important things in this life than squabling over small things and some of those important things can never be returned or replaced. Think about it guys...........
