Luby Chevrolet, Colorado
Anyone have an emblem from Luby Chevrolet in Denver, CO?
A friend just purchased a Corvette that came from that dealer and there are two holes where they must have mounted their emblem. He'd like one to place back on the car. Thanks |
Re: Luby Chevrolet, Colorado
I'm sure I do... somewhere.

Re: Luby Chevrolet, Colorado
Tim, Luby Chevrolet was bought by Emich Chevrolet about two years ago. They still have the same phone # 303-716-6490. I called them and asked if the used car lot or body shop might still have some old Luby name plates left. I'll contact you if they find any. Wayne

Found it!
Here's the car it was on... http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_DSCF9960.jpg And here's a better shot of the emblem...I don't know if this is the one that you are looking for https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_DSCF9961.jpg |
Re: Luby Chevrolet, Colorado
I had a 61 FI car from Luby but I don't remember it having a Luby Emblem.

Re: Luby Chevrolet, Colorado
Guys,
Thank you. That's the same mounting place where the holes are on the Corvette. The size of the emblem seems about the same spread as the holes. This is an original paint car and the option is to repair the holes or find an emblem to put on the car. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |
Re: Luby Chevrolet, Colorado
I've picked up a few Luby Denver items over the years.
I believe they produced at least three variations of emblems. http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...7/Luby0011.jpg The later issued, heavily orange outlined cursive under the center circle emblem above is made entirely of plastic w/o any mounting posts and adheres with friction tape. |
Re: Luby Chevrolet, Colorado
This pot metal circle emblem is the earliest I have, and has three mounting posts instead of two.

Re: Luby Chevrolet, Colorado
Thank you to everyone for your help. My friend joined the site and ended up securing one from Mr70. I'm sure it will drop right in the two holes on the rear of his '66 Corvette.
Joe, thank you for your offer, you're great. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |
Re: Luby Chevrolet, Colorado
No problem, I tried...I'll still send him one for free if he wants, might help take some of the sting away. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smirk.gif

Re: Luby Chevrolet, Colorado
Wow, I just zoomed in on my old COPO picture at the track and never noticed the LUBY emblem on the trunk lid. I may need one of these emblems, what the going price? Anyone know of any other COPO's sold from Luby Chevrolet, the story on my 9561 was it may have been the the only COPO sold at there store. Just wondering. thanks mike

Re: Luby Chevrolet, Colorado
The one my friend secured for his '66 Corvette fell right into the two holes with no trouble.
