[/ QUOTE ] Never saw one myself however https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif ... the lamp should be located in the same row as the rest of the "Idiot lights". Not in the modual as shown in the link in the first post. Below is from curcuit ops in the wiring manual. The LOW FUEL LEVEL MODULE senses the resistance of the FUEL SENDER portion of the fuel level system and illuminates the indicator light in the INSTRUMENT PANEL. Re: Low Fuel Light Question
I've had quite a few that had it. I thought it was standard on later 69's with guages ?
|
Re: Low Fuel Light Question
Me too?
|
Re: Low Fuel Light Question
Maybe it was standard ??? I looked in the options list and did not find it listed by itself.

Re: Low Fuel Light Question
It was part of the console gauge package. Since the fuel gauge is down low on the console, Chevy needed to add the warning light in the dash.

Re: Low Fuel Light Question
But when did they start including it in the console gage package ?
All 69 Camaro Console/ gage cars do not have this included. Mike |
Re: Low Fuel Light Question
Mike, My Dark Green Nova has the low fuel light and if I remember correctly a March build date. I would guess Camaro would be the same??? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: Low Fuel Light Question
Was the fuel gage on the console only when a tach was ordered, since the gage package included a clock, and precluded a center fuel gage?
|
Re: Low Fuel Light Question
Gary
Look at it this way... the only time a small center fuel gage was used was with a no console car or a console car without the gage pac.... with a tach. Mike |

[/ QUOTE ] U17 tach and gages which included low fuel indicator. U16 tach only with center fuel gage which became available around 3/69 The tach took the place of standard fuel gage location and the fuel gage was located in the center(clock location) |

I have the original order form for the car and it was ordered with the U17 instrument cluster. It doesn't say anything about another option for the low fuel light. |
Re: Low Fuel Light Question
Interesting...my 05A Camaro does not have it https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
But my car has had abunch of owners. Mike |
Re: Low Fuel Light Question
All the dashes have the lens in place for the low fuel light, check the bulb or maybe the gauges were added and the lens just needs to be wired up.

Re: Low Fuel Light Question
It has been 10 yrs. since I put my car together...I will go in and check for the module when I get a chance. Got me wondering now https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: Low Fuel Light Question
So it was tach and console gages, or just tach. No such thing as console gages only? Got it....thanks.
|
Re: Low Fuel Light Question
Correct...no such thing as console gages only.
U17 special instrumentation Tach, clock, and console mounted, oil pressure, amp, temp and fuel gages. Mike |
Re: Low Fuel Light Question
Console gauges included a fuel gauge. Since the RH pod in the dash could only have a fuel gauge or a tach, it wouldn't make any sense to have two fuel gauges.

Re: Low Fuel Light Question
I'm curious to know if ALL consoled gauge equipped 69 Camaros received the low fuel light,or was it an early/late build addition/subtraction?
I've never noticed it before.. September 1969 dated Salesmans materials state: "Optional RPO U-17 instrumentation w/floor console or V8 includes: Temperature, oil & fuel gauges and ammeter on floor console.Combination Tach & clock, low fuel warning & brake warning lights in instrument panel." Did 69 console equipped Novas get the low fuel light too? |
Re: Low Fuel Light Question
I believe 69s did, and am sure 70s had them, as I had one on mine.
|
Re: Low Fuel Light Question
Yep...I'm sort'n through 69-70 Nova nomenclature right now,and see that it was included on them too..
Although they don't make mention of a "Brake Warning light",they do say,"U-17 includes Low Fuel telltale in instrument panel." |
Re: Low Fuel Light Question
My 70 Nova has the Low Fuel Lamp but no module .I can't figure how it can work properly without the module .That's probably why it doesn't.It glows dimly at a full tank and gets gradually brighter as the fuel level drops .If someone can shed some light on my lamp problem it will be greatly appreciated .
