Can't wait till Arizona. John, I think you need to establish some parameters for these guys. There are a lot of high end and very unique Z28s lurking around here. |
Re: 1969 Z-28 Wanted
I am not in the market for a high-end/priced Z. I am looking to spend around $45,000.

John, Will be very hard to find a nice 69 Z28 with original drive train in that price range. Jerry [/ QUOTE ] From my observations... 45k will buy something along these lines... Driver quality paint maybe incorrect color, repro interior, missing the expensive detail items 480, 837, dated DZ carb, no smog etc, possible matching numbers with aftermarket intake carb etc incorrectly detailed engine compartment/suspension... If this is something you are comfortable with then by all means welcome aboard... buy it, drive it, and enjoy it. If you decided you would want to make a car as described above close to correct sometime in the near future... it would cost you 30-40k min if you end up painting it. |

[/ QUOTE ] X77 designates a Z28 non style trim. Although it was not stamped on the trim tag until 12B it was still a X77 base Z28. Also the back seat bulkhead would be marked X7 which designates X77. |
Re: 1969 Z-28 Wanted
Thanks Steve the bulk head has the X7 in yellow grease pencil...
|
Re: 1969 Z-28 Wanted
The X1, X3, X7, X2, X6 codes were actually internal plant codes to aid assembly workers when building the cars. Eventually these codes were phased in on Norwood trim tags in early Dec of 1968. The large Norwood trim tags were phased into production late Nov 1968 before X codes were added to them.

Re: 1969 Z-28 Wanted
My (11D) car has DG3 on the bulkhead. Found a couple others written like that. Must have been the same shift or person. Car is Fathom green with a dark green interior.

So much for a recession. I'd opt for a RS 69 Z/28. [/ QUOTE ] I just sold a Le Mans Blue with black deluxe RS Z on ebay . it had a NOM motor and trans but the units were rebuilt... pretty much original paint with one scrape and a few minor lower fender rust spots. Original glass, interior .Flat hood with dealer added rear spoiler. Needed to be put back together and it went to reserve in less than 48 hours (22k) and I stopped the auction and sold it to the high bidder who made me an offer .. got 5 emails form guys that were watching the auction waiting to go in at the final hour. Probably cost myself some dough but I got just shy of 30K for the car and am still getting asked about it... so though that yellow Z for 67k is not an RS if it is as nice as it looks in person and #'s I think 67K is not a bad price. May not be a steal but not bad at all IMHO. FYI http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...T&viewitem= |

Re: 1969 Z-28 Wanted

|
Re: 1969 Z-28 Wanted
thanks for all of the good thinks said about my car, the people who have seen it do know i took a lot of time making it as nice as possible, but the price is 62,000 OBO NOT 67
more money would be nice for her college but i am just trying to be fair thanks again LITTLE TOMMIE |

Re: 1969 Z-28 Wanted
Sorry for being OffTopic. Tom does a lot of time consuming things to make a car extra nice that you might only find on a high buck resto. Very nice car, Lil Tommie. Highly recommended and fair price.
