Yenko sponsor drag Corvette

I lifted this picture from the HAMB board, but I do remember this car from my younger days at Keystone Raceway. Chuck Wright and Joe Dvorchak had the car. Joe worked for Yenko and built many of the Yenko Turbo Z's. I think its a cool picture taken at Keystone...BKH

Hello Brian,
This Corvette is a 1970-1971-1972 coupe. The front fendor side grills shown in the photo were used in those years.
Regards,
Drew Papsun

Cool Pic thanks! Chuck also drove and owned the Tiretown Rat 69 Camaro...A super cool wheel standing ride back in the day...I have pics someplace!

I believe he also back halfed/tubbed the 69 FG/DH Zl-1.. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: Yenko sponsor drag Corvette

68l30,
Actually, this Chuck Wright did not own the Tiretown Rat. The Chuck Wright you are thinking of was from Ohio. The Chuck Wright who owned the corvette in the photo was from Pittsburg. The Chuck Wright in the photo eventually went on to purchase the Ed Hedrick 69 Yenko Camaro. He passed away several years ago. Actually, the Ed Hedrick Yenko was later named Dvorchack and Wright as well. I think I have pics of the car lettered us as Dvorchak and Wright. I will see if I can find them to post.

I'm likin those bell bottoms. And Mike I just stoked up the wood burner. Should be about 80 in a little while.
Cool Vette. There was always a part of the Corvette group that believed that they should be street, and drag raced. Most of the time, they were pretty heavy hitters.

Re: Yenko sponsor drag Corvette

I believe the Corvette was purchased by T. Kasch. I'm not sure if he still has the car or not? He frequents the Yahoo Super Stock photo group. Who was Chuck Wrights partner with the Hendrick car? Looks like "Kreigal" on the door.

Re: Yenko sponsor drag Corvette

One reason that the Hendrick/Yenko car has not been found is that it was reported stolen during Wright's ownership. It has never been recovered, or perhaps it ended up cut up as a full chassis car. We may never now..BKH https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: Yenko sponsor drag Corvette

Bringing back an old thread. I helped wrench on the Wright/Dvorchak car back in the 70's. The engine was assembled with parts that were worked over by Smokey Y in prep to run super stock. The person standing at the back of the trailer is Joe's brother Frank. I think this pic, also from the Truby collection, was taken at a later date than the one shown above. The girl in the background was my better half at the time. I knew Joe passed a few years ago. Sorry to hear Chucky is gone now too. Any details on what happened to him? He was a wild one back in the day! Also, what is the trick to be able to save pics from the Truby collection? Right clicking the pic does not give you the option to do a save https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif There are some cool old photos there from PID and I'd like to have them.

Gary, if you right click on the thumbnail pic from the main page, you can save the image.

Unfortunitly you can't enlarge it.

There have been more pictures added to the Truby collection and the Vette is in a few of the new ones. This one is on the starting line. Joe D is the guy standing by the passenger door.

Hey, that's my father, Frank Dvorchak in that pic! Does anyone have any more pics of that vette and or info about it's whereabouts?
