Missing Yenko Deuce?

Brian, aka Nova7579 sent me this picture taken of a Yenko Deuce in a showroom window. Don't know who the dealer was or whose car it might be. He hasn't found the other pictures he showed me several years ago of three unknown Yenko Deuce conversions being delivered. As I recall in the pictures of the three Deuces, it showed the cars being delivered on tow bars and having side pipes. I'll post the pictures when he finds them. |
Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
Way cool! Is the hood tach missing, or can I just not see it? Almost looks like the stripes were a matte black...definitely don't look super shiny.

Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
Looks like SF yellow, but might be Citrus green. It's not Rapids, so you're down to nine other choices. There is an original owner SF yellow deuce in Neb sold from H&H with side pipes. Been on pretty much from day 2. I doubt any were delivered new from Cannonsburg, or Hurst with them on, but I never say never. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
Put your glasses back on Ken, its definitely Citrus... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif

Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
Yea, you're probably right. Guess I'm trying to read to much into the picture window tint. It does look like the tachs missing. Anybody remember what Wolf's looked like in Belvidere Il.?

Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?

Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
Is there a belle chevrolet anywhere?
I see the words "belle" in the lighted sign, and I see a picture of a bell in the reflection. |
Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
actually, upon further review it looks like they have two of those fluorescent chevy light hanging from the ceiling. the ones that say "camaro", "chevy II" or "chevelle"
they usually have the metal sides with the plastic front. that plastic usually tended to get brittle over the years. anyway, the sign on the left has the chevy bulb working, and the sign on the right has the "velle" light working https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif |
Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
Boy, there's a LOT going on in that picture...you can see part of the interior of the showroom, as well as the refletion of the buildings across the street...is that a '67-'72 swb I see in the reflection? And the other car in the reflection?

Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
I think the guy taking the picture is outside at the curb and is taking the pic over the roof of a 68-72 Nova.
He looks tall. On the CSI show they would "enhance" the photo and be able to tell who it is or view his fingerprints! To bad there wasn't a CSI on this site. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif |

Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
oooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh....the blue light....no signs of DNA anywhere...not even on the glass !!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif
|
Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
I think the nova is on the street. Chevelle sign inside the building along with the pickup. Only a guy driving a Nova would notice the cool Yenko Deuce Nova inside the dealer and take a photo of it. He may of even came back the next day to buy it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif Thats my take anyway.

Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
Come on guys....I thought someone would be able to figure out the dealer. It had a silver and a blue sister car DRIVEN from the Hurst warehouse to the dealership. This car is NOT on the list of known cars. It is a Citrus Green car. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/drool.gif

Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
Hello,
I can tell that is not W.R. Austin Chevrolet, Norwalk,CT or Byrne Brothers Chevrolet, White Plains, NY. and Malcolm Konner Chevrolet, Paramus, NJ. What are any of the other dealers in 1970 that were that sold Yenko Deuces? Regards, Drew Papsun |
Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
Colonial
Its not Frankies missing Dragin Deuce is it?? |

Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
If it's a pic from the original selling dealer, (which is appears to be due to the window sticker still being affixed), I'd narrow it down to where the 10 were sold as follows:
Thorstad - possible Colonial - unlikely, they sold 2, I don't think they had a red brick bldg Fencl - unlikely, they sold a white stripe car Lehman - possible, they sold 2, both were black striped Wolf - possible, Minneman - possible, Riley - unlikely, they sold a white stripe car |
Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
Wow! Now that is a very cool pic!
|
Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
since Wolf is a possibility, maybe i can do some driving around downtown belvidere and do some investigating....the building they're in now is new and not far from where they were in 1924 when they started selling cars........
|
Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
I sure don't think it's Colonial. Their old building was completely white in 1968. Check out the pics from my visit to Colonial
Plus it's a heck of a haul from Warminster with 4.10 gears. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif |
Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
Sorry Marlin it is not any of the dealers you listed. If all of those dealers sold a CG car and there were SUPPOSED to be only 10 built, then we have just blown that theroy.
Brian P.S.-Study the list and then look at my post about the 79 Yenko and you will have your answer!! |
Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
Is it Malcolm Konner in Paramus NJ?
|
Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
Could it have been a dealer trade from one of the recorded known CG Deuce receipients on the Yenko list,to another dealer not known as selling a CG Deuce?
Or would they have corrected that already to reflect that,if indeed that happened? |
Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
No it is not Konner, and it was not a dealer trade.

Max Conner Chevrolet in Roanoke,Ind.

Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
So what about the 1979 Yenko Nova? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif Still anxious to see those pics.
|
Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
John Brown was mistaken about what pictures I have. I do not have any 79 Yenko Nova pictures because the car does not exist as far as I know.

Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
Pretty cool picture. Now that we know who the dealer was, anybody know what might of happened to the signs showing in the background? One was a Chevelle sign for sure, the other looks to be the ultra rare Corvette sting ray sign. You almost never see them. Gotta love those old showroom pics.

Re: Missing Yenko Deuce?
They went out of business 1976 and had an auction then. I typed the whole story of the 3 Conner Deuce's last night and when I went to submit my reply I lost the whole story. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif I will try again later.
