Re: my new 68 z
its a pretty decent car, pass fender and door have some damage, previous owner hit a deer with it a few years back, also rear 1/4s have been patched, kind of cheezy job, floors are real nice, trunk is getting weak. what is a car like this worth? "mo" engine not nm, real z28?

Re: my new 68 z
isn't "MO" correct for a 1968 Z/28 ?
|
Re: my new 68 z
|
Re: my new 68 z
yeah the "mo" block is correct for the 68 z28, but the serial number is off by like 1,000 or so. the previous owner had one cylinder dead and needed to be sleeved, he said back in the 70's who cared if it wasnt the original block. so the machine shop had another "mo" block they used, with all his internals and heads, intake etc. What is a car like this worth?

Re: my new 68 z
Car must be from late Jan to early March... right?
In order to give an accurate value we need more photos. AND Is the the alt is correct? Dist? Carb? |
Re: my new 68 z
i know the alt pulley is wrong, im suppose to be getting the original carb, dist is gone. its an early march car.

Re: my new 68 z
Nice car......the ride height is perfect. Did you get any factory documentation with the car?
|
Re: my new 68 z
im going to look around in the car some more, i just did a little cleaning on it last night. its a neat car, it was driven all the time up till 2 weeks ago. the previous owner needed money very bad, and this was his only transportation till then. i spotted it at a bar in a small town about a year ago, and gave him my number thinking he will never call me. then the day came!! and i snatched it up asap

Re: my new 68 z
where would a build sheet be in this car? is it above the tank like my 69 z?
|
Re: my new 68 z
clean it up and keep it the way it is ...
perfect year 6 looks ... LOVE that color !!!!! |
Re: my new 68 z
Regarding price, I've had mine for about two and a half years. It's original engine car with no paperwork but, it needed quite a bit of restoration. I will have a little over $50K in it when I'm done. I've got it running and the engine was balanced and built by a friend of mine. Running 110 Sunoco Racing Gas in an 11:1 302 makes it all worth while. Good Luck, Ed

Re: my new 68 z
The alternator pulley isnt deep groove, so thats been changed. If its a NOR car you wont find the buildsheet on the tank and I think that is only a 69 LOS built car place to find them.

Re: my new 68 z
so i just looked at the trim tag, paint is "oo" shouldnt it have a single "o" for corvette bronze? what is this all about
|
Re: my new 68 z
OO is correct for upper and lower body color. It would have a single O followed by a letter if it had a vinyl top

Re: my new 68 z
James:
I got a call from a friend of mine about this car in Niles, Michigan. He said that a friend of his owned it and he was a Ford guy and just wanted to get rid of it. When I saw the color combination (716 U2), I knew I was going to buy it. It had all the ear-marks of a Z/28. The right booster, decal in the glove box, 12-bolt, etc. but it didn't have the original engine. When I told him that he took me to another bldg. and low and behold the original VIN stamped MO block, 1178 crank, date coded heads, carburetor and intake. Well, I bought it. When my friend who told me about the car called he said, "I knew that you would buy it because it was a blue Camaro". Ya think? http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...IMG_3889-1.jpg Ed https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif |
Re: my new 68 z
Nice 68Z corvette bronze purchase. The 68 Zs are a great car,I have a Los 02E car with the 302 emblems on it also. I was never able to find any build sheet in my car but good luck. PS. Look everywhere possible for the POP,I found mine in between the heater ducting and firewall. Glove box was torn apart and must have slipped through.
