Re: 1965 Z16 with its Original Engine
I know this car very well as I was the second owner.I purchased it from the original owner.Had I known what I know today I would have never restored this car.It is one of only a few Z16s known with all original sheetmetal and drivetrain. It would be very hard to find a better example.

Re: 1965 Z16 with its Original Engine
This is a beautiful car and the color is awesome....

Re: 1965 Z16 with its Original Engine
Real nice all over. Why would the plant stamp one number with a gang stamp, and the vin by hand??
PJ |
Re: 1965 Z16 with its Original Engine
Two different "factories". Many early big blocks are stamped this way.

Re: 1965 Z16 with its Original Engine
Finding a Z16 with ALL its original drivetrain is no easy task. The pad on this car serves as a reference and benchmark for correct and accurate Z16 Pad Stamps.
This car was purchased in "Original" Condition and from the "Original" Owner. I would not have restored this car. It was that Nice and original, prior to the resto! This Z16 was not put together with eBay/repro parts. Many of the Z16s components are also original to this car. All of the Sheet Metal is also original to this Car!! This is a very Special Car and priced to sell in todays Market. |

Re: 1965 Z16 with its Original Engine
I've seen this car many times and it is beautiful. The paperwork and original components make it very rare. Love the yellow. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

Re: 1965 Z16 with its Original Engine
I hope I am not high-jacking this thread but what makes two black Z16 Chevelles worth $750,000? That is almost four times the amount of this car?

Re: 1965 Z16 with its Original Engine
Mark, Mark, Mark! YOu just don't get it https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif! You pay the extra $555,000.00 for the cool story about the "with the original numbers re-established on the front pad" https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif
|
Re: 1965 Z16 with its Original Engine
I am sorry Sam but I am still learning. So the extra money is for the story not the cars.

Re: 1965 Z16 with its Original Engine
Hi Mark,
I think you have a very valid question. I guess alot of car owners are using the Barrett Jackson prices of old. Hope all is well and lets touch base. Later Buddy, Dave L. SoCal |

Re: 1965 Z16 with its Original Engine
This car drives "as new". I know, cuz I took it for a ride, but don't tell Stefano!

This spectacular Z16 is still for sale.

Re: 1965 Z16 with its Original Engine
Not any more.
Thanks to Stefano for a lot of hard work and patience while I performed my due diligence. The deal wouldn't have happened without Stefano's efforts. Thanks to Joe, Chris and Dana as the cars history was exactly as advertised and actually even a lot better than advertised after my research. It was my first deal with Stefano and it was a lot of fun. Nickey Chicago is highly recommended. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |

Re: 1965 Z16 with its Original Engine
-----Les,,,Im sure you have figured this out but you will like this Z16 better and better as time goes on. I didnt have the pockets for it but got up close to it a bit and wished I could have owned it as 65 is one of my favorite Chevelle years. The owner history is just simply the best, as well. I am (very slowly) finishing up a 65 Chevelle wagon thats is done in a sort of pro-touring style.......Bill S
