1970 L78 Nova battery hold down
 

Ok Nova experts does the battery hold down on a 1970 Nova built in the first week of December 69 have a two dimple hold down or not?The one on the car currently does not have the two dimples and I am wondering if it is the original to the car.Also is there any markings on an orginal and what are they.Thnks for the replies Bob

Bob, i would say you should have the dimple hold down. My L34 is a January built car and has the dimple type.

Our survivor 1970 L78 car [dec. 69 build] has the hold down w/o the dimples.

some really knowledgeable people here told me its 69 and prior...and i believe them...doesnt mean much because i'm no expert, but the people that reached out...yeah...i believe them...

I would not be surprised if both types were used over a period of time.

Pretty much by 1970 the dimples were gone. Never saw a 1970 Chevy anything in the Yards with the dimple battery hold down, not even the trucks. BUT, like Lynn said, it could have been used. If it was in the bin, your car could be in.

I know you're talking Novas,but my Kansas,Leeds Oct.69 Chevelle came with a double crimp hold down originally.

I have 4 of those. 4 syc members I've been selling them for $75 each ship to the lower 48.
