Carlisle GM Nationals

Went to Carlisle the best day of the show, Friday. It is going down hill every year. Just glad I live so close. Did see folks I know and that is always nice. But it was also sad and bittersweet to be there with my dad. A good friend of ours lost his son Monday in State College in a motorcycle wreck at low speed. Jay has always been a car guy and would have been there, but the services were Friday. This guy will turn 78 after the 4th on the bright side he has two grandsons to watch grow. He is the first guy that gave me a chance to restore his cars and the opportunity to work on cars I would never own. Great guy just broken hearted for him.

Unfortunately it has been a downward spiral every year . It has never really taken off and for unforeseen reasons. My 2nd year not attending and know I missed nothing ... KP

I concur Ken. I was in the showroom last year with the yellow car. Nice to talk with Brian and some of the participants, but as for the show overall, loosing it's pizzazz. 5th year of decline. After I find a buyer to take care of Ol Yeller, I won't attend again. Only Fall & Spring for me after that.

Buildings were full of great cars and there were many cars on the field on Friday. With 3 inches of rain forecast it becomes readily apparent why the show was sparse this year with the vendors and spectators who are not going to invest in the trip for a total rain out.

I talked to you last year Jeff. Did not see anything for my Z28. Just bought some parts for my Nova project. Nice to see the number one Camaro, but no one was with it to answer questions.

Sorry we missed you. We were in the area full time and did three to four 20 minute seminars per day on the PA system. Granted..the security guard was watchful and kept onlookers at a distance so there was no reason for anyone for be near the car to watch it

Two pics from last year's show. Good friends and a new, young "Chevy Kid" in his pops 69 Z-28!

I missed the car completely. lol Didn't make it to the show yesterday on account of the weather. Showed up this morning but the SLS was just about empty! I thought special display cars had to stay until Sunday. Weather has got to be better next year! Anyway, will it be on display in the northeast again?

And what were the items unveiled? I'm sorry I missed that.
