'70 Camaro caliper part# help
I am trying to locate a pair of correct disc brake calipers for my '70 project and can not find the correct part#. Can anyone help with this and possibly know where I can find them? Thanks.

Re: '70 Camaro caliper part# help
These were unique to 1970 Camaro/Firebirds w/Ft.Disc only,as 1971 & on saw many newly designed revisions.
1970 Left front #5470121.. beginning w/1971,#5472532. 1970 Right front #5470122..beginning w/1971,#5472533. Bear in mind that these part #'s are NOT the same as the casting number actually cast into them. These are merely the shelf ID part numbers the GM placed on them in. Someone who owns any one of these cars, could probably tell you the actual number cast into the caliper.. |
Re: '70 Camaro caliper part# help
The two I took off my 70 camaro casting #s are Left # is 5470126 & r # is 5470125. I don't think these are org to the car. The disk hub is dated B 14 70. My car didn't have front brakes when it was ran back then.

Re: '70 Camaro caliper part# help
I found that the correct casting numbers are, per Ron Norman, if anyone cares or wants to dispute:
6470128 rh 6470126 lh Ron has a buddy who took these off of his original '70 L78 |
Re: '70 Camaro caliper part# help
Does the "70" in the casting # denote the year?

No,the "70" in the box number does not denote the year. That's just a coincedence. I'm with Kim..that's the number 5. |
