Prayers that Lee is doing well and he's too busy living life to post.

Saw these out on St Patty's Day, not bad.

----The Slays had a really nice collection of mid-years quite a while back. As you can see they were in to Corvettes and bought and sold a bunch of them. I'm thinking that Classic Motors had a few cars that passed thru the Slays hands!....Bill S

A few muscle cars hanging out in the alley.

Sunfire Red ‘64 GTO up front. Great rare color.

olredalert 03-22-2024 02:39 PM

----Oh,,,I loved Sunfire Red. Have always wanted a 64 GTO that color, but they are hard to find. I also see at least one Torque Thrust D on the Corvette. I'm assuming there are 3 more....Bill S

There is actually another pic on line with R. Lee Ermey saying that. I just couldn't copy it easily.

IDK, those polished stones shouldn't hurt anymore than the steel shrapnel from the bag enclosure tearing their face apart.

Is it just me, or does that burned Corvette look like a scale model?

markinnaples 03-25-2024 11:53 PM

That burned up close to downtown Naples a few weeks ago, and was a sad site to see.

Yes, that is a sad to look at, but it isn't the whole car gone. In today's world, that is rebuildable. Looks like a fuel leak at the line to the carb was spraying gas on the hood and fender.

I have seen some unbelievable model makers in my years but none that have been able to replicate burned fiberglass fibers or dripping water from the rocker panel area. That being said, there are some guys out there staging models that are extremely hard to decern from a real car.

markinnaples 03-26-2024 02:34 PM

Uh, huh, that's Main Street thru No. St. Paul, MN 7-8 years ago...;)Guy that owned it was a bit of a jerk. Had it at Back to the Fifties and went to show off. Hit the throttle and it stuck open, he panicked and instead of turning the ignition off, slammed it into a tree and totaled it.
