Fortunately, the Los Angeles fires were about 90 miles from me, but there are a couple new ones which have ignited here in North San Diego County, although I think the biggest one (the Lilac fire in Bonsall) is about 50% contained as of tonight after scorching 85+ acres. Mother nature is being a real bitch right now with these 80-90 mph Santa Ana winds helping spread the fires.
They say the Malibu coastline and Pacific Palisades are about 5-7 years away from even remotely resembling what they once were, maybe even 10.
Believe me, I have a lot of stuff packed in case the wife and I need to skip town. |
