Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
I wouldn't recommend this method:-(
If I had to do it again I would probably rent a dolly that the front tires sit on. Ryan |

Flat bed is the BEST method.....too many things can go wrong with all of the above.

Agree, I had a very short distance to travel so not a biggie but trailer would be cool

Re: Ryan Weaver's 1969 Olds Cutlass S W31 Club Coupe
invest in a relatively cheap 16 or 18' open trailer, you can always sell it when the project is done.

This is probably the best plan.

You hit the nail on the head!!! Dad is like a machine, he is working on the car in his sleep and wakes up ready to go!! Dad and Jamie removed the exhaust, driveshaft, Z bar, transmission mount bolts, engine mount bolts, carburetor, etc to prep the engine and trans to be removed. I brought home the engine hoist again and we pulled out the engine and transmission and then separated the transmission. The M22 is a 10 spline same as my M20 which is great, this means I can swap transmissions in future fairly easily. Then we took a trip to the igloo to gather any and all tools, jacks, car parts (except the big chunks of course) and swept up to leave the igloo in good standing:-) Ryan https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...6-img_3612.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...7-img_3613.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...8-img_3614.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...9-img_3615.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...0-img_3616.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...1-img_3618.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...2-img_3620.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...3-img_3621.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...4-img_3622.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...5-img_3624.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...6-img_3625.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...7-img_3626.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...8-img_3627.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...9-img_3628.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...0-img_3629.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...1-img_3630.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...2-img_3631.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...3-img_3632.jpg |

PS: Dad and I talked last night and he is excited to drag my car to and from Chicago, as long as Nick Morocco will be at MCACN!! They became instant ("besties") friends at our L89 display last year. TTYL Ryan </div></div> Nick visited us at MCACN briefly, and picked up my M20 for rebuild. He has started gathering the parts to freshen up the transmission. Looking forward to shifting gears!! better seal that car up to keep the mice out. maybe put some type of repellent in there too. plenty of home brew ideas to keep the visitors out..
