Today, no one knows what happened to the Bison concept truck. It was never developed beyond the initial concept stage. However, the Bison truck will always be a part of General Motors and Bill Mitchell’s design history.

This is the 2nd prototype for the 69 Trans Am. Notice all the emblems that didn't make it into production: RAM AIR on the hood, FIREBIRD on the front fenders and 400 on the trunk, along with TRANS AM in red on the spoiler.

The Day a Pontiac Tempest Bested a 427 Corvette … 1963!

Quote:

We’ve all heard the story of the little engine that could. Well, the little engine in our story isn’t so little and packs a great deal of muscle for something from the mid-’60s. How about a 421 SD Pontiac packing 500-plus hp and capable of motorvating a ’63 Tempest LeMans around Daytona quicker than the competition.

More like the 1976 Aerovette - which came a year after the Opel so it was probably the basis for this Corvette concept.

Don't get me wrong; Studebaker had some great low cost innovations over the years; like a lock up torque converter in my 53. GM didn't use a lock up TQ until the 80s. But by 1965 the grave was already being dug for the Studebaker autos.

I love this photo.
I’m not sure if it’s factory Original, but it is a very nice combination.

C-C = Cameo Ivory with Red pinstripe.
216 = Red interior that would have a Parchment headliner.

Standard inside rear view mirror.
No outside mirror as this was an option in 1965.
