I am buying an inexpensive tow bar and magnetic trailering lights so we can flat tow my chassis home.

Otw home Dad's friend has a truck shop where we hope to use the steam Gennie and blast everything clean.....

Planning to get this done before Santa comes:-)

Started chatting with the powder coat place and sent them sample pictures from Dan Vasic's current restoration project so we can discuss quality. They mentioned that the incoming quality is a big factor especially if the frame is all pitted.

A friend offered a set of five 14 X 6 steel wheels and a few used 67-69 dog dish caps so I can have a set of WW bias ply tires and a set of red line radials. (This way I can get all 10 wheels done at the same time. (Hope this works out!)

You're probably going to have to fill, block and paint if you want it to appear like it did when new.

FIND ANOTHER Powder Coater.....until you find the correct one.

They will say the same thing. Unless he fills in the entire frame with a high temp filler he will not get a smooth frame back. Guys use JB Weld and apparently Allmetal body filler to get pieces smooth before powder.

Ryan, is it logistically possible/feasible for you to use Dan's guy for powder coating? I've got no idea how far apart you guys are. Please let me know if I need to give myself an uppercut!

Ok, just looked. 650 miles. Uppercut given!

I haven't even seen the examples at their facility yet so I won't rule them out. I can't sneak away to tour their facility till the new year.

Dan's vendors are not right around the corner for me:-( that would be too easy!!

I will find a pitted piece of metal for them to powder coat and see how it comes out and go from there.

The team at Muscle Car Restorations in Chippewa Falls, WI. does great work....They usually always have a car or two at MCACN.
My powder coater does a lot of the same as in this article.....just as he
does the front rotors....I have him do the same with the rear drums.....again this is more for the driver car....but I have also used the same procedure with judged cars....no point deductions. I like to eliminate the possibility for any and all rust ever returning. Not an easy task. This article is 100% correct it is ALL IN THE PREP WORK!
