We took the carpets out of the DANA today to get them cleaned up. 100% original as expected, but what I did not expect was the carpet tags on the back side. I have taken apart more than a few Norwood Camaros and have seen gennie carpet tags, but this LA built car had tags like I have never seen before. Check this out...BKH

Guys that ask how carpet is factory cut, this is blueprint for console cars..the front rug is split into two halfs...BKH

The repo rug companys should look at the back padding. The way its cut out to lay over humps and the way the padding is die-cut around seat belt mounting points etc....BKH

This is the trimmers information tag. It is loaded with the RPO codes for the car....BKH

The codes match the trim level of this car, and there is NO doubt it is for this car. I have pulled out Timmer tags form other cars and sometimes I have seen three or more inside the car, none of which match the car. One thing that I found interesting is that the original plates issued to the car, match the last three numbers of the job number on the trim card..BKH

We need a few things for the car that just did not stand up to the heat. I am looking for a pair of nice black door lock knobs. We also need the covers for the shoulder belts at the headliner. They just crumbled as soon as you touched them, I have never seen those so dried out. If anyone has some of those parts please PM me, I will gladly purchase those from you...BKH

Of course it's not mine to decide, sure wish it was...and not to do the boys out of work either, but as things progress I can't help but feel even more strongly than previously for consideration of the car being left overall as the battle-scarred unrestored survivor it is?.
Yes to the mechanical internals restored also more cleaning/detailing too and even the few parts necessary replaced w/ originals but overall I can't stop feeling how this car is simply one of the sweetest original finds a fella could ever dream of and even though it'd still be amazing restored, I'm just having trouble thinking of the day it's painted?.
How'd the Go-Jo paint cleanup turn out?.
