Re: The start of another great show

Say, does anyone know who the was reponsable for doing that crazy burnout at the end of the show....I believe they were part of the Camaro Club parked outside.

The car was a Blue 69 Z-28 Camaro....he lost control, locked up the brakes and then did a 180 degree turn....almost like that of a Vintage Big Wheel.

Guys like this ruin events such as the SCR....he was lucky not to run into anyone, especially the Yenko that pulled out in front of him.

If anyone knows of or has any pictures of this person....please notify Tom Clary. He should be band from the SCR event.

Dan.

That car was sitting in the outdoor show. I saw it pull in and noticed it was a similar paint scheme to Dave's RS/ZL1. No idea who it was but there's always someone who feels the need to take things past a safe and sane level.

I would assume that someone from the club would have the contact info for the driver of that car. I agree that he should be banned...not only was he endangering his own life...he was also endangering the lifes of the people in his car, the Yenko Chevelle's driver and passengers and anyone else that happened to be standing there. Just one of the many benefits of privately renting the whole damn place for the day...It's not often mentioned, but I think its awesome that the sYc essentially has complete and unlimited access to one of the nation's biggest and most state of the art drag racing facilites for the whole day each year. I'll bet John Force himself doesn't get any better treatment at Gateway International than we do!

First I would like to say thanks to Dan Vasic for pointing out the big wheel slide... Then to Darren for calling me a big jerk... I know you guys are playing and I can take it, but when Bruce who has no idea what went wrong says I should be banned because my car was out of control???? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/mad.gif that pisses me off... I was going to do a burn out and I didn't rev the Z high enough to spin so I got a second instead... As for the the slide, my porportioning valve has some trouble some times and likes to stick the back brakes... This just happened at as I was trying to stop at the cross road, I tapped on the brakes twice before I had to lock it up to stop before that Yenko turned into the lot... As for the 180??? it was more like a 90 and I had no other choice in the matter but to do the cool Big Wheel slide... I was in control the whole time and I wouldn't have done anything different if I had to do it again!!!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

This show will rank and one of the best SCR's ever, and I have been to them all. The weather was just about as perfect as you could ask for. Its always great to see old friends and meet new ones. Thursday nights meet and greet was a homerun as usual. Friday's drag racing was once again made special this year by Mark Hassett! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif Joe{Brandon}Barr did a great job as the auctioneer, a job he may have a hard time getting out of in the future. The dinner party was lots of fun and the private viewing of the cars after dinner was a great nightcap. Saturday was just a blurr with all the memorabilia to look at and talking to everyone. Already looking forward to SCR10...BKH https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

A big thanks to the Clary's for again having a fine event. Lots of new cars, and people this year. Some that had been seen by only a few people, like the ZL1s. I was especially glad to meet Eddie M. and friends. Very nice folks.
Becky had a great time helping with the bracket racing, but next year she wants a radio so she can talk to Mo.
Always good to see old friends again, and hope everyone made it home safe. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
