Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
I have got to say i can appreciate their attention to details and taking pride and ownership in their work. It can be sometimes difficult to find a shop that takes restoration seriously, instead of just another car in the shop.

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
I read all 33 pages today
Very interesting work, wish you to finish it soon. This will be one of the nicest 66 Impalas out there... Greetings from Germany |
Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
Welcome to the board Jack. Good to have you. Whereabouts are you from near Nuremberg?
|
Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
Hi Sam, thank you very much.
I was born in Nuremberg and live now in Erlangen, about 12 mls from Nuremberg. Sorry my English is not so perfect... I own a 81 Chevy Caprice, and a 69 Lincoln Mark III. Want to sell the Lincoln and buy a 65,67 or 68 Impala 4 speed. Very hard to find here in Germany . Think I need to import one from the US next year. So there will be a lot of questions here then. Greetings |

In some cases reasonable prices. Not so difficult for you to go and check them out yourself. Here is a '66 283 vert €21000 http://www.xn--fyndbrsen-47a.se/bila...ala_cab/40036/ And here is a nice '68 327 vert for around €18000 http://www.usabil.nu/databas/Detalj.asp?ID=98767 Use Google translate on the pages to convert to German and then you go Most of the cars here in Sweden are in good shape. You could probably be better off selling the Lincoln up here too. Good Luck with your hunt. Jan |
Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
Hi Jan,
thanks for your answer, could be worth checking it out. Thanks for your links, but both have automatic. I'm looking for a 4 speed. And no Convertible, only Coupe oder 4dr Hardtop, I forgot to write that. You really think selling the Lincoln up by you could be better than in Germany? I mean, from here to the border are about 1000 km... But enough of that, I don't want to spam this thread with that here. I think I open a new thread next year when I have questions. Greetings Jack |

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
Thanks Ken.
The condition of the Biscayne looks amazing, but that's not what I'm looking for. Doesn't need to be like new, good driving condition and a solid body with a few small scratches and dents is ok. Smallbock is ok also. Btw, a sleeper is great, but this one looks like a granny car for me with that colour/interieur combination . My budget depends on what I get for the Lincoln, but about 20 - 25k $ would be my max. Have to pay about 30-35 additional % of the car price incl. tax, toll, etc. to have it street legal here in Germany... Greetings, Jack |

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
LOL, forgive me. It's a gorgeous car, and I would be very proud to own something like that!!!
But here at work we have bad old monitors and the colour looked like an ugly beige... Watched the picuters at home again, and I have to say I'm sorry. Car is a great sleeper:D. But still out of my budget. |
Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
Jack...I'm bettin he is negotiable.
|
Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
Yeah probably, but 47.500 $ won't shrink to 25.000 $, no matter what I try
I would be afraid to let this car stand alone in the underground park, lot of jealous haters and idiots around here in Germany |
Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
Hey Jack,
Sorry, did not see your response to my 'welcome' above. Good to have DE represented on the board here. It sounds like you are serious about getting into a big Chevy. Lots of U.S. Army around Bamberg to the north of you. You may try advertising your Lincoln up there. I have been to Nuremberg a few times. In the late 90's my family stayed on a nice farm (Urlaub auf dem Bauernhof) in Pleofen (middle of nowhere!) and did day trips to Thurnau, Bayreuth, Bamburg, etc. Beautiful region. |

Crazy how small the world is... Unfortunately only a few guys from the Army here want to own an American car. They all drive Toyotas, Hondas etc. But should be no problem to sell it on our local market. Sold a few classic US cars before, took always 2-3 months. I'm not in a hurry . Now it's winter time and nobody buys a summer car... have to wait till March. Btw, last year we visited the Army in Grafenwoehr with about 120 US cars, that was very nice. We were allowed to park in there and visited the "German-American Volksfest". All the Americans were proud to see how we take care of our "babies" |
Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
Sounds like you have a good plan Jack. We were in the Sauerland this summer on a friend's small farm with our boys and had a very nice time. Can't wait to go back.

Well beige isn't my ... favourite colour, but at worked it looked really shitty yellow-beige. The car is so gorgeous, I would buy it with any colour

Re: Next Years Power Tour Car
Stopped at Puleras today after being gone for a week.....Here's what I found when I got there....They were just ready to get the car out of the spray booth.....Perfect Timing!!.....After getting the car out and removing the masking paper.....I spent some time looking at everything and determined that even though the top was new.......I can't leave it alone as the top frame assy is weathered to where I would not be happy with the end result......So.....when I get the body home this weekend......apart it comes....the Top frame will be sent to Strip-Rite for paint removal so it can be finished off to match the quality of the rest of the car.......This never ends.....LOL
The rest of the parts will be painted later in the week.....The gas Tank/Fuel assy will also be finished later this week......we have been so busy at the shop that my stuff always gets pushed to the back of the priority list....Soon Come..... http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC05476.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC05478.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC05481.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC05488.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC05490.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC05491.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC05485.jpg http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...t/DSC05486.jpg |
